Thumbs up Camaro coupe production update - resumes Jan. 12

production will resume jan 12 ...the court case should not delay schedule unless it drags to feb...the build schedule is such that body and paint can run for a month before filling up to the trim area
those who are waiting should be very excited as this is the first car I've built that drives as well as it looks
its a gocart and a rocket ship put together

Production of the parts or the car itself? Wasn't the car build to start in February?

"saleale" cars began in nov at only 3 - 5 cars daily...I dont believe these are dealer orders but will probably be showroom models and test drives
these wont be scrapped but may have sales or leases restrictions attached

That's a really good question since none of the (our) vehicles are in anything other than pre-order state. None have been pulled by GM (preferenced). I don't understand how they are building and painting bodies in the mean time considering all orders can still be changed...

Hey OshawaInsider,

I have one simple question that I don't think anyone has asked yet. Juuuuuust wondering if you've seen a Cyber Grey Metallic Camaro rolling around?

Thanks

Has ABL been fixed on the cars yet? And Will "saleable" cars resume on jan 12, or will pre-order car's start being produced

I am sure as with the Sky that these are what are used for the Saleable test run. that is they will produce 400 or 500 cars and stop production, and inspect each car, the top brass will come in and look over the cars and inspection results and then give the go/no-go for saleable car production. The cars in this group of 500 will be offered to dealers for demos/early sales If people do not want to wait for their car to be built. At least this is how it was done before.

the fate of Gm is not dependent on the Camaro ..its fate rides on sales of all their vehicles ...the camaro is only a part of the new "flex" assembly ...this line can build 2 door, 4 door, fwd. ,rwd., awd., hardtop ,convertible SUV in any combination

I wish all of GM's plants were as flexible. Its what an automaker needs to survive these days.

I don't know.. I think Camaro is gonna save GM. Right now Ford is only selling F150's and Focus.. everything else is rotting. GMC is selling arcadias but Fords boxy Flex is a disaster.. Station Wagons 4 the fail... AKA Crossovers.

GM needs a new 4 banger truck to go up against Tacoma. NOT Canyon that design is stale.

Camaro saves GM by making people feel GM is getting another second wind and will be around for service and camaro trendy hot..

the gmt9000 trucks (colorado/canyon) and lightyears ahead of the tacoma, they only need the advertising support to back them up.

Yeah, I have noticed a huge lack of advertising for that product. Lets hope GM tries a little harder, and soon.

GMT-900 is full size trucks (Sierra/Silverado/Avalanche/Yukon/Yukon XL/Tahoe/Suburban/Escalade/Escalade EXT/Escalade ESV)

GMT-355 is Canyon/Colorado/H3/H3T.

And in all honesty, the Canyon and Colorado need a LOT of work.

My father-in-law has both a Colorado and a Tacoma. The interiors of both are comparable, but the engine in his new Colorado is a dog. That thing couldn't pull itself out of a wet paper bag. And apparently you can't get the V8 with a manual, which is about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. That platform needs some work for sure.

Welcome to the site! Thanks for joining and sharing some great information with. We look forward to hearing about our cars rolling down the line up there. We also hope that the "Flex Assembly" means good things for GM. We are certainly doing what we can by buying a bunch of new Camaros!

I have a feeling the Canyon & Colorado won't be around much longer... they definately need a new Small truck, the C&C twins have never lived up to their potential...

Well, in my opinion, it wouldn't be much of a loss. I was so disappointed when I drove his brand new Colorado a few weeks ago. Now, he had an off-road edition a few years back that was pretty nice, but it went downhill with the new design.
