I ordered a sample, but then started looking at some more photos and the DIY on here and ended up ordering the piece to do the bowties.

I'll have to do some measuring. I'd love to use this on the interior dash trim pieces as well as the center console cover.

Both are on the way, you should have them by mid week!

In case anybody missed it, the DIY for the bow ties is on Camaro5 here

I did something with the 3M 1080 Scotchprint CF vinyl and was able to do a seamless install. Pics here --> http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149493

That being said, I received my Hexis CF sample yesterday and it's a dead ringer for the 3M 1080 so I'm looking forward to ordering a roll of the Hexis and applying it to my fog bezels, interior trim panels, gauges, and console. I had issues (mainly my lack of experience wrapping) with the install of the 3M on the above pieces and will see if I can get the Hexis to work.

Will post updates/pics in a few weeks when I have time to get to it.

Good deal. 3M latest material is thin and very easy to tear if you are not careful. We have looked at it as well as others on other forums we support. The thoughts are the same, our material is easier to work with and most think it looks better.

Canada Post Strike

For our Canadian Customers, due to the postal strike in Canada we are not currently able to ship or mail anything into Canada. We had a couple of orders over the weekend going to Canada and they are currently on hold until the strike is over. Once the strike is over we will again be able to ship and mail to Canadian addresses.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hexis Carbon Fiber Wrap

So I was finally able to play around with the Hexis carbon fiber wrap that I purchased a week ago. Let me first say how impressed I am with the quality of the material. It is thicker than the 3M product and with my newly purchased heat gun, I found it sticking more to the surface I was applying it to rather than itself.

So as promised, here are some pictures of the dash trim and fog light bezels I wrapped. I plan on doing the gauge cluster trim and center console trim in another week.

The last pic also shows off my HID Blue headlight films from also from headlight armor.

This is how it would look on the steering wheel. I also included a pic of the door panels, I cut a small line along the top so the ABL shines through. I couldn't get the instrument gauge panel right, the curves there are very complex.

I'll order from you guys for sure, but only I you have access to white carbon fiber vinyl. Do you have access to white carbon (ill be ordering black carbon as well) from the same manufacturer. They do make that color now. Thanks!

Pharmaro, great job man... How har was to do the DRL bezels? Did you start it with the smaller inside circle and stretched it to the larger outer? Any wrinkles? From the distance looks awsome!

Pharmaro looks great

Having never purchased something like this before, how much would be needed to cover both door portions and the center piece going across the dash?

Thank you

I bought a large roll from headlight armor, but I think if you measure it it's only like a 2-3 foot by 1 foot section needed for each door panel. I didn't even take the panels off, it was one of those 100 degree days and I applied it right to the panel and took an exacto knife around the edge. The curve of the door panel wasn't too bad that I had to worry about the vinyl lifting from the heat. I then went back at night and cut a thin strip across the top so the ABL showed through.

The DRL's were much harder. I actually ended up cutting strips for each part as I tried to wrap the whole circle at once and it would end up lifting, once again I think the extreme heat may have had a hand in this. I had done my gauge cluster but the extreme curvature combined with the heat led to it lifting right off. I haven't tried yet with an adhesive promoter.

I need to take another pic of the tailight bezels when I get home. In my opinion, they really set the car apart from the rear end instead of the chrome bezels. I have posted them here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...94#post3276894 Post #9
