What 21" tires do you buy for the 21" wheels

I stopped by my local tire store today and they encouraged me "not" to buy the 21" wheels. They said the tires are impossible to find. I got on TR and looked but I came up with nothing.

It searched for tire size and I just assumed the tread width, etc would be the same as the 20's. So when I searched for 245/45/21 and 275/40/21 it came up with nothing.

Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for if this is wrong.

Thanks!

Feel free to PM me.

A Majority of companies go for even numbers above 20". You might have to specially order there from some websites or even the company themselves. I know some places have them readily available, butI imagine they're more expensive than the 20's.

21s are a VERY oddball size. Thats why I was surprised that GM went with a 21" instead of a 22" wheel. A 21" tire is going to run about $250-$300+ a tire. Depending on what tire brand GM goes with, it will most likly be a tire that will be easiest to order from the dealership parts department. Not to mention alot of tire shop STILL have problems mounting anything over a 20" tire. I had hell finding a place to mount a 22" tire for me and when I asked several MAJOR tire stores(Discount being one of them) they told me they couldnt mount them that they only sold the tires or sold new sets of wheels and those come already mounted and balanced. Ide stick with the 20s and get an aftermarket 22" if you wanted to go bigger.
