Can someone explain this interior trim kit / ambient lighting ?

I was reading the GMPP catalog and I really want to get the interior trim kit , but it seems the way it reads I need the Ambient light thing from the factory first , so okay , How do I obtain that ??? I ordered a 2SS/RS

Here is how it reads ..

"Interior Trim Kits
When ordering the factory illumination package you can personalize
the interior lighting color with parts, color-matched to the Camaro’s
exterior colors. Use them to complement or contrast your Camaro’s
exterior color for a completely custom appearance.
92221433 Interior Trim Kit, Scorch yellow (not shown)
92221438 Interior Trim Kit, Inferno Orange (not shown)
92233738 Interior Trim Kit, Olympic white (not shown)
92233739 Interior Trim Kit, Switchblade Silver (not shown)
"

Cool , so does this mean I have to order the Scorch yellow trim kit separately or do I need to call my dealer and put on my order ???

It will have to be ordered seperately from the car. And from the sounds of it we'll probably know more on the availablity of the accessories on Friday from the 3rd IDL. Here is the description from the order workbook about non-LPO accessories: "In addition to the LPO offerings, there is an exciting variety of complementary over-the-counter accessories available at
the time of purchase"

The items it lists are
Fuel Door
Grille Insert
Molded Splash Guards
Interior Trim Kit
Audio Upgrade Subwoofer
Catback Exhaust
Performance Air Intake
Shorty Headers

So you can order these whenever but as I understand it only LPO items will show up on your window sticker.

and just for clarity... the interior trim kits do NOT change the factory lighting elements, just the colored panels

So the last four on the list, the audio subwoofer upgrade, catback exhaust, performance air intake, and shorty headers won't be available to order from the dealer until our vehicle shows up on the lot, or is this one of those things that no one really knows because that info hasn't been made available to anyone yet?

I'm not at all familiar with the new concept of GMPP making "aftermarket" parts for their own cars, other than knowing you can roll the price of those parts into your car payment...

So are the kits just the door inserts or can you change the lighting in the door panels with these kits as well? or is changing the lights something down the road? bc im sure they will offer that sooner or later.

Just the door inserts and the two strips that go across the dash.

Question

DUMB QUESTION TIME:

if you have a 1LT or 1SS can you put the plastic panels in the door and dash in place of the cloth inserts in the lower trim's door panels? i personally do not care for the light up bits the 2LT and 2SS but having body color plastic inserts on the doors/dash would look very cool when I EVER get a 5th gen .
