can a dealer do a muffler delete?

i am going to pick up my car this thursday,

and thought i would ask if anybody knows if the dealer can do a muffler delete for me,
or am i going to have to stop at a muffler shop to get it done on the way home from getting the car?

thanks in advance to anyone that can answer my question.

Not really answering your question sry.. But do you have the money to get an exhaust setup? Because if you do I think you should go with this, it sounds amazing.

I believe their are laws on the books against removing mufflers ,dealers for the most part try to stay legit. Usually it's private shops or home mechanics that will do it. Anyhow you can ask them would not hurt.

I would think they could but probably wouldn't. Nothing to do with warranty or anything but a muffler delete requires them to cut off the mufflers and weld a piece in it's place. I doubt very many dealers have a muffler guy on site plus the material on site.

If they said Yes they'll do it, they would probably sub it out to a local muffler shop anyway and then charge you double.

You would be better off looking up a local muffler shop in your area. They'll probably have more experience doing this stuff anyway.

Why would you want them too? They will probubly charge you twice as much as a muffler shop.

Its like $75 at the local exhaust shop. After you do that, you will have forum members argue that you are stupid even though you have 12 grand going into a motor setup and twin turbos on the way.

Do it. It sounds great. If anyone tells you different, tell them where to go.

i actualy like the sound of the delete AND the decel popping.

i dont want to go with an aftermarket exhaust because my stripes are coming first,

possibly an exhaust later down the line but i really like the sound of the delete.

as for the dealer doing the delete i kind of figured it might be a legal thing.

ill be driving it home from the dealer,
so does anyone know any good muffler shops between camaroscottys dealership in wisconsin and pittsburgh PA? LOL

As far as legality, that varies from state to state. I know that almost all dealerships sub out all their exhaust work. Just hit one of your local shops and have em cut it out. It should run under $100 and will be the best money you ever spent. Its a lot better than most of these high dollar systems. I have an SLP Axle back system that I am probably going to remove.

I know Newman Chevrolet is a "mod friendly" dealer but that may be pushing it.
I am sure you have been in contact with Scotty on a regular basis, give him a call and ask him your question. You never know til you ask.
