Smile WEIGHT OF KOOKS LT VS. STOCK MANFLDS?

Just installed Kooks catted 17/8 LTs and noticed the shipping weight was 53lbs. Anyone knows the weight of the stock manifolds? I know they are heavier, but just wanted to know by how much.

Well if you just installed the Kooks, shouldn't you still have the original manifolds you took off? Just weigh them! I'd be interested to know this myself.

the stock manifold is thick cast metal, has a heatshield, two cats and some pipe on each side i would say they weigh more than headers, and headers make an extreme difference in power over stock manifolds. = win

If I had a scale, I would have weighted them and provided the information. As such, I thought that one of the other members may have done so. Again, if anyone has weighted the manifolds, please chime in. If I am correct, the headers and connection pipes weight 53lbs. Thanks again for any accurate input.

Hooks headers and midpipes are between 40 and 50lbs installed. I have not weighed the stock system.

So you save 12lbs. Not bad. Now you can have bacon on your cheeseburger!

Thanks Jaysin for the information. 12 less lbs and 30 plus more hps are all positive gains.

In addition, for the guys that go catless (Kooks race pipe vs high flow cats) you'll shave a few more pounds.

Where you can shave a good bit of weight is by getting rid of the stock mufflers. (they're heavy).

SGO, I would like to add a deeper sound to my car, but I do not want the drone and additional noise. My car has the Vararam and headers-the noise level is not that noticable inside the car until I get on it. Outside, you can tell the exhaust note is diff. I might consider replacing just the mufflers. Thanks for the info. again.
