I'm partial to the Monte Carlo in Tokyo Drift since its a NASCAR inspired movie car with legit parts. That and I have a 72 Monte Carlo 350/350. I posted more movie car info below or click on it's own movie car homepage http://www.tokyodriftmontecarlo.com/1.html

700hp 572 Bil Mitchell BBC

Most of Tokyo Drift's action takes place in, naturally, Tokyo, but the story is framed as the consequences of the hero's stateside street racing. The primered, NASCAR-inspired Monte Carlo is what gets him in trouble. Two of the nine first-generation Monte Carlos built for The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift had big-blocks — this one with the 560-horsepower 509 aboard and the other with a 700-hp, 572-cubic-inch Bill Mitchell "Hardcore" crate engine (the other seven either had small-block V8s or were used as engine-less bucks). In both Chevrolet cars, the engines feed Hooker headers and Flowmaster mufflers and, for story purposes, are disguised with "Hardcore 632" valve covers. Both run Richmond T-10 four-speed manual transmissions, Wenco driveshafts and Moser-built 12-bolt rear-ends running 4.88:1 gears in a spool differential. Both also ride on a chassis wearing Global West front control arms and coil springs, KYB shocks, Speedway Engineering anti-sway bars, Global West weight jack plates and quick-ratio steering boxes.

Wilwood disc brakes sit behind each of the Cragar 397 steel 15-inch wheels. The tires are Goodyear stock-car specials, 27 inches tall and 8 inches wide in front and 27-by-10 inches in the back. The stark interiors consist of sheet metal fabricated in the Tokyo Drift shop, custom-built roll cages, Grant steering wheels and massive Hurst V-Gate shifters. Auto Meter gauges bolted to sheet metal replace the stock gauges and the seats are Beard low-back buckets.

Everything about the Tokyo Drift Monte Carlo demands muscle to operate and steely courage to remain composed. The 509 Monte ripped to 60 mph in only 4.4 seconds and devastated the quarter-mile in 12 seconds at 118.3 mph. That's despite tires built for circle-track racing rather than straight-line acceleration, and a distinct lack of traction that had the car squirming all the way down the course. That's quick by any measure, and it's hard to imagine any car accelerating with more drama.

Not many movie cars are true bad asses. The Tokyo Drift Monte Carlo is.

At least the craze only lasted three year's which was fun by me because the bunch I ran around with back then was strictly GM muscle as daily drivers and my 67 Camaro w/ ZZ4, stalled auto w/ 4.10's made ate a lot of rice back in the day. Except this 2nd gen DSM raped me on the freeway 10 years ago.

Wow, I think its cool they have a 5.0L Maverick in the next installment. My first car was a 74 Maverick Grabber and I drove it to high school in 96-97 and it didn't get any respect even though it was really, really clean. I loved it but ended up selling it because I didnt have the means to repair the brakes.

This car was easily my favorite out of all the FF movies, as it was the most simple, yet bad assed ride of all. I would love to own one...

Bullit with Steve McQueen...best car chase scene to date; McQueen drove a dark "Highland Green" 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 CID Fastback, chasing two hit-men in a "Jewel Black" 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum. There is a rumor that the Mustang had a souped up Chevy engine in it and the Charger needed re-enforced suspension to handle the jumps...don't know if its true.
My other favorite is an obscure movie titled: Corkey (1972), starring Robert Blake. He drove a 69 Plymouth Barricuda fastback w/highwing and wanted to be a NASCAR hero....he failed and ended up destroying the car in a demolition derby....a sad ending for a cool car and the movie. The picture doesn't do it justice....Man, the 70's what a mix up that was......Bell bottoms, Fro's, heads, straights, Disco, hippies....and some real cool cars!!!

Even though I love Chevy's, I wish Plymouth still existed!!!
