Please help me choose....

I currently have some 1-7/8" long tubes with cat delete pipes ready to install. I am waiting until i pick a catback exhaust to install it all at once. I have narrowed it down to three exhaust systems but am stuck. Have been stuck for a while. I live in a small town so I am one of few camaros around and they are all mostly stock so hearing them in person is not an option for me. My three I've narrowed it down to are:
-flowmaster American thunder
-borla s-type
-borla atak

I want a deep throaty rumble. I hate raspy exhaust notes such as corsa. Out of these three which would be best to give me that deep rumbly sound? I want an aggressive setup that turns heads and scares the car sitting in the lane beside me but can't have it to where I'm constantly dealing with cops. Any input on which of these three systems paired with longtubes would be the best for my wants is greatly appreciated.

For what you are describing I would suggest the Borla S-Type out of those three.

Crappy S-Type with headers video.

I have the flowmasters and I love the way it sounds. Very deep nice rumble. "Drone" if you want to call it that is noticable, but I like it.

The ABSOLUTE BEST deep, throaty sounding exhaust is the JBA 3" competition exhaust. It also has great looking tips.

I was advised not to run that system with longtubes by a pro. That's why I was asking about the atak exhaust. Thought it might be too much with headers too.

The Retro Chambered will be loud with LT headers but the ATAK will be just as loud. If you want Borla go with the S-Type, with Stainless Works the S-Tube.

Try the Magnaflow 16483 3" exhaust. It's what I have on my car and it has a very deep throaty sound to it. It's not raspy and no drone. It may be just what your looking for.

I love loud. I want aggressive. But will running the atak or the retro chambered exhaust be so loud cops will take notice even with normal driving? Just wish I could hear it so I would know how loud. How loud compared to a muffler delete on stock manifold?

I can see you are having a hard time making a decision on your exhaust so I will give you my input. I have the SW headers and full exhaust including the S-Turbo mufflers and it is loud!! But it's loud when you want it loud, like at wot not when cruising around. I have been told by countless people that it is the baddest sounding exhaust they have ever heard. Now that being said you can opt for the S-Tube mufflers and I believe it quiets it down a little but still very aggessive. Me being a owner of this system I can honestly say I am VERY pleased with the sound and fit of this system. I met a member on this forum one day so he could hear my exhaust and he ordered the same set up 2 days later Hope this helps you out and good luck.

That's what I am leaning towards. I just don't want t spend that kind of money to find out it's too tame for me with headers. Will the s-type with headers be mre aggressive than the flowmaster American thunder with headers? Like that sound too but from the videos seems a little tame.

Both are tame IMHO.

I have JBA's competition catback and I love it. Nice deep sound with a little bit of a drone. The girlfriend said it was too loud on the freeway so I just put in some deadener in the trunk. Worked like a charm.

I guess what I'm getting at is that pick the exhaust you want because of the sound, don't worry about the drone. If need be, that can be fixed pretty easily.

Not worried about drone whatsoever. I'm used to it and doesn't bother me one bit. Only thing I'm worried about is being pulled over for it being too loud. But I wan it as aggressive as possible and get away with it.

Loud and cops go hand in hand. Been there done that. ATAK, IMHO sounds like a tractor. I think I would rather have glasspacks then ATAK. Borla S is OK. The deep bass sound without the raspy, sputtering, crackle when you back off is the way to go. Of course a good tune after install will help calm down the aforementioned crackle.

I have had the stinger since I had the car. I decided to put the Atak on since we were selling so amny. With headers, it was simply too loud and pulled it off in 3 days and went back to the stinger. I would rather be too quiet than too loud. Keep in mind if you buy the stinger catback and it is too quiet, you can buy an Atak axleback (PT#11788) and switch it to an Atak catback. Then you can sell the stinger mufflers as a stinger axleback (PT# 11775).

Take a listen. Even though its' on the commputer and hard to tell on most, it's as good as reading someone describe it.
