Need Help!

Ok so my wife says she is tired of the Drone (it doesn't really bother me). I need to know what is the best Cat Back system to retain my loud exhaust but get rid of the drone. I want to keep a very aggressive tone outside the car but with little to no drone inside.

Any Ideas?

Vendors?

Process of elimination:

Do you hear the drone when she's not in the car?

The only one I've seen as being completely drone free is the Corsa.
That SW sounds a lot better though!

I know you dont want mufflers but get some magnaflow mufflers (they are straight through). I have heard they are designed to filter the drone. You could call them to verify. This will keep your good sound loud and should get rid of a lot if not all of that drone.

+1 on the Magnaflow. I had a Flowmaster setup on my Hummer and it droned horribly, but the Magnaflow that I just installed has none at all! I love it, and so does my girlfriend, and she is VERY picky about stuff like this.

SOUND DEADENER

get fatmat's trunk kit, will solve all of your problems. Minus the nagging though, can't fix that one.

Doesn't work. Many members have gone that route and all they got was slightly muffled and a LOT of weight.

The big question I guess is has anyone tried a specific exhaust that has Long Tube Headers installed? I need to be sure before I buy.

Drone really seems to be getting subjective lately....lol

Without a doubt, the Corsa and newer Kooks "Sleeper" Catbacks are about the quietest/drone free Catbacks on the market.

The LG Super Pro and Doug Thorley Catbacks are not far behind these two.

Flowmasters and Cherry Bomb sound absolutely fantastic, but I don't think that I could personally be in a car with one of those for more than a couple hours.

There are some more that are also "drone free" accordging to the popular vote, but again, this is subjective as all hell.

Youtube is your best friend....and ask more questions then you want out of those who actually own them and drive daily with them.

I can tell you what every single header and catback looks like since we sell most all of em.

But I can only tell you about the 5-8 that I've actually had the chance to driven in more than 5 times.

Keep at it and here to help.

The basic thing is I am going to C5 Fest this year and my wife is coming also. She insists that the Drone be gone or at least alot lower when we take that trip. I do not notice drone becasuse when I am in the car by miyself I have the radio on but when my wife and i ride together the radio is either really low or off altogether so we can talk and just listen to the car make it's wonderful sound.

Unfortunately I don't think you can have both. You either have to give up some of the loud for no drone or you have the loud mufflers and have some drone.

I have the Magnaflow 3" (#16483) and there is no drone. However...it's no where near as loud as what you have. You'll probably think it's too quiet especially compared to what you'e been use to. Same will probably go with Corsa.

Good thing is that prices on systems like the Magnaflow have come down pretty good. You could always buy one and try it out. Worst case you don't like it and then you can sell it for a small loss.

The other option which you might really want to try is to get a set of Magnaflow mufflers to add. When I had the muffler delete and was going to get headers I was worried about it as well. I talked to Jordan at JDP (he has the best Magnaflow prices) and he had suggested some round mufflers. I think they were 5" round x 14" long and were going to be around $160 or so to the door. Don't quote me on prices though....give him a call and let him know your situation. Tell him you want to keep it as loud as possible but also want to get rid of as much drone as possible.
