Try cutting your mufflers off and putting long tube headers in. Then you will be LOUD like me.

Muffler delete is the cheapest way to get a VERY loud exhaust.

I'm running long tubes with no cats and no mufflers (pretty much long tubes straight piped out the back) and it's pretty freaking loud...

that's the loudest you can get... long tube headers with no cats and straight pipes. OR if you want to at least have the OPTION of keeping it quiet, do what I did and get the noweeds.net diverters. they're the best mild-to-wild option available. more expensive than the QTP cut outs, but WAY higher build quality and reliability from what i've read.

i have mine on now with twin turbos. when i open the dumps and spool the turbos it is downright NASTY.

Full JBA system NON-catted is the loudest on the market.

Loudest exhaust rarely, if ever, translates into the best sounding exhaust. If it were me, I'd try to find some sound clips of various Camaro's with aftermarket exhausts on them and determine which one I think sounds the best.

Everyone wants a loud exhaust until they actually have to drive the car. OP, just go for a high quality system like Stainless Works, Corsa, Magnaflow, etc. or do a muffler delete.

Straight exhaust no mufflers will be the loudest

But if you want loud and Cooll

Go with B&B Bullets

They flow very well also

That is a loud set up, but I couldn't say it is the loudest. because...

LT's and no mufflers is very loud. The Stainless Works LTs and their retro exhaust very loud. Borla LTs and ATAK will grumble pretty loud as well.

I think some good advice was already given, listen to a number and decide the one you like best because they each have their own character. If you can hear them in person it would be even better. Try a regional Camaro club event or meeting and ask for a few volunteers to give you some revs. I'm sure someone will oblige.

Muffler delete is the cheapest by far then add LT headers and high flow cats. But, if you have an L99 you will either need to get a tune to turn off the AFM or use that Boston Premiun Acoustics to drowned out the sound when it kicks on and off. It not really acoustically pleasing to the ears.

exactly...

No offense to anyone, but LTs with no cats and straight pipes (IMO ONLY) sound awful....some guys love the db level regardless of the tone, and it is your baby do what you want with it...I just recommend to you OP, you actually study before you dump a hefty amount of cash into this decision. Go to a meet and ask around other gen5 members what they have under the hood...

I just love the low end rumble of a borla with LTs catted. Buddy has the setup and I will be copying.

I have a muffler delete now... will adding shorty headers give me the same sound as adding LT headers?

Nope. I did the same thing you did and didn't notice much, if any, difference. Get some high-flow cats or non-catted mid-pipes and you'll probably come close.

Cat-less LT American Racing headers + Borla ATAK exhaust = really damn loud. Got that setup on my car.

great loud quality sound (not THE loudest) is Borla ATAK CAT.

Just listen to some clips, narrow it down, and ask around your area to find those to listen to in person....

it's like ice cream.... some like nuts in it, some don't. Only YOU can decide which is "best".
