Break over ground clearance

I've spent months reading. Thanks for all the great information!
I have a 2SS on order and trying to figure out if I'm going to get it in my garage. I have a steep break over angle and I see different information in the Wiki about wheelbase dimension. One spot shows 112" and another says 119". The only info I can find says the underclearane in 5". Can anyone confirm which numbers are correct?

I remember seeing the ground clearance number and it was at LEAST 5.0, probably a little higher like 5.3 but that is just based on memory.

Ground clearance is 5 inches. I only remember it because it is exactly 1 inch higher then my Z28 which is 4 inches.

It looks to be around 5-inches. I've only seen photos though; never seen the car in person :( I never really rubbed on anything in either of my two 4th Gens. as long as I was careful and planned my route over speed bumps and over/up driveways.

I've been wondering about that measurement too. I need 4" min. to get up my 45deg. incline driveway, well depending on front overhang beyond wheels, but I should be ok. The 350Z doesn't scrape.

Looks like I'll make it. My driveway is about 12 degrees, but the garage has a 1 inch step going in which is added to the under clearance of the car. Awesome!
It might not make it after all the tread is burnt off!

Thanks for the answers

you have a 45 degree incline in your driveway....surprised you can walk up it...thats pretty steep------do you have a winch to pull your cars up the driveway. thats probably about the same angle as a staircase in your house.....a 45 degree driveway that is 50ft long would be 25 feet higher at one end than the other......I seriously doubt your driveway is this steep....if it is, I'd think about moving.

MAN, I complain about my 12 degree driveway. My parents have a 20 degree slope on part of their driveway(the most allowed by their city) and my truck barely makes it up without spinning the tires.

Even the steepest driveways in San Fran are not 45 degrees. That is some serious slope.

Well of course it doesn't instantly go from level to 45 degrees, it's graduated at the base, but for about 20' it really is 45 degrees. It's a pretty easy angle to recognize right in the middle of horizontal and vertical, and I certainly have no reason to exaggerate. So, if my Trig. is correct, the house is 14' above the road. It affords a great view though up there on the hill, and a damn good workout mowing the front yard, even with a self-propelled walk behind! Oh, and NO the 350Z DOES NOT SCRAPE!

EDIT: This is interesting - I had a guy come to do some pressure washing in a Ford, I guess an F150, maybe 6-banger, with a large tank of water in the back and he could not get up the drive(it's concrete), got about the whole truck onto the incline and had to just set the brake.

A 45 degree angle is a 1:1 slope much steeper than people think. Meaning for every foot of vertical movement the driveway would drop in elevation 1 foot. Now that is a steep driveway .

We go stay in a friend of ours' cabin once or twice a year, and his driveway is somewhere between 35 and 45 degrees. It is SCARY going down it. I did not scrape, though, even in my camaro... It is a gradual slope, unlike that picture. I may have a picture I can upload when I get off work.

Wow, that doesn't even seem practical. From the road it looks like anything would scrape, but not as intimadating in the picture going into the garage.
So those pics are a 45' driveway? Pretty close at least.

^^^That picture is an abrupt change from level to the incline, mine is not, and I have a side entry garage, so at the top in front of the garage doors it's nearly level, otherwise I would NOT have bought the lot. I couldn't imagine having to wash my cars on the street.

EDIT: Yes, entering the garage would be a nightmare. My turnaround area is straight ahead at the top of mine, and you basically have to just go straight and hope you're positioned properly. On the incline you're looking at the sky, you can't possibly see the road ahead!

The front spoiler of my vette is all shredded up. Lil Texas offroading. But it can't even make it up to the gate of the west Texas family ranch, I have to take the truck.

Doah looked at those pics. Uh.. they should not even of allowed the builder to do that.

Those pics are crazy. If you own that house, you absolutely have to own an SUV or truck. I can't think of a single car that could get in that garage.

Whoever designed that housing tract with those inclines should be sued for gross stupidity. Even with flooding or planning for some disaster I do not see the logic of such a poor design.

I'm thinking the Blur "your dealer is an idiot" statement replaced with contractor or developer.

If its gradual, then what are you worried about? never the less, I figure the breakover angle is around 11 degrees.
