These wear marks are not outrageous but I think if the base was black it would be noticeable.

Where as I build custom bikes and one of components for both the auto and motorcycle industry giving customers what they want is how I make my living, as long as they're paying. Producing production parts makes it more difficult but I do what I can. Much thanks.
you raise a very valid point. I think I will stick with how you originally created it and go from there - it's hard to see how it will look until it's installed, it probably looks better then I think. I can vinyl or paint it later if needed.

cool machining pic, I want to play around with one of those bad boys :]

You've got a little while to decide, I could polish the base, it doesn't show much, and do the rest in black. It wouldn't be costly to refinish if you decided at some point to change. because of there design customizing isn't to big of a deal.

The machine is cool but no where big enough. I usually make custom parts for specific vehicles so I only run a few. If I'm doing one off parts they are just that so doing a large number of parts like I have been with my shifters has been challenging, but I love it.

Hi all, looks like I'm on schedule. I believe this list is accurate if there is anyone on it who should not be or if I am missing anyone this is a good time to let me know so I don't miss anyone on the first run.

Definetely want one. Take money orders? Can this be here by New Years?

ed: noticed satin black is available rather than a wrinkle finish? Can you post a pic of that if possible? Sounds like it would look a bit more...refined, i suppose, than a wrinkle grip.

Hi, postal money orders are ok. I would think you would see it well before new years. The first picture in this thread is the prototype with satin black grips. believe you asked about white, that is possible as well.

It looks like the hurst plate will work with the stock shifter so I would think it would work with mine. If you purchase one and it does not work just send it back for a refund, no problem.

While machining some of the components is when the idea came to me. This idea will allow the use of the same basic components and more importantly the same tooling and fixtures. If it does work as I think it will I will offer them already set up or if someone has purchased a shifter and then decided to try this it could be done at a reasonable cost without purchasing a new shifter.
I take this to mean you are using the current pistol grip platform to design this...Bumpshifter? So, theoretically I would purchase your shifter now and when your bumpshifter setup is ready for prime time be able to upgrade it at a nominal cost?

Just curious if thats what your actually saying, cuz if it is then thats awesome and wont make me feel like Im going to miss out for signing on the current model if your new innovation pans out. Ace work all around

Yes that is what I mean. My original shifters have provisions for additional buttons for nitrous or linelock, that is something I am planning on making available with these units, again upgradeable so let's say you decided to put linelock or nitrous in your car, you would have to send your shifter back and I could install the buttons at a reasonable cost. When I have this set up complete if you already had nitrous you could purchase a shifter with the buttons to begin with. The same thing with the "bump" shift as you call it. Do keep in mind that the bump shifter has not been completed yet and there is a possibility it may not be. In order for me to test it I would have to build it in which case I would have to stop production to play with it. The way technoligy advances it seems everything today is disposable, you buy today and something better comes out tommorow so you literally throw your money away for a new one, my intensions are that if you buy one of my shifters as the technology changes you upgrade instead.

Hi everyone. By the end of the day I will be changing set-ups on my machines so if you would like to be included in the first run you need to place the order today. After this it will be about two weeks for the next run. Also if you are interested in another finish option besides the polished base and frame with black wrinkle powdercoated grips now is the time. Please chack the list a few posts up to make sure it is accurayte, thanks, George

Is the cocking back the only option? Not sure how that would feel having to tilt it back when changing through the gear selections.

Yes that is the only option. Just like other shifters with various release mechanisms when you first try it it's a little different but after using it a couple of times it requires no thought.
