Congrats, you'll love it. Will be a year next week with mine. Looks like Texas now has two 2010 w/HUD's.

Thanks! I certainly do love it after 48 hours. Congrats on your "anniversary"! I learned a lot about my car's dash and what's behind it, which is also really awesome in my book. I'm really surprised there aren't more TX 2010 HUDs, given TX has the most amount of 5th gen Camaro sales out of all the states.

I'm very interested in doing this... my biggest worry is any potential dash rattles. Anyone having trouble with this? If it's not an issue, I would LOVE to do it and could easily afford it

That doesn't sound like a likely issue, but I guess someone who's done the swap could tell you better.

Zero dash rattles; I wouldn't worry about this. The dash pad (the face of the dash that you take off) is securely mounted back in, and there are plenty of screws/bolt points to make sure the dash pad doesn't move at all. This is partly why the install takes so long; unbolting all those bolts and putting them back.

tofu is correct, most of the work is screws..( actually i cant remember any nuts n bolts) just screws.and disconnecting mfg. connectors...for me and guy who helped, our biggest problem was seating the dash back..it slides back on a plastic shelf like thing,,that took about 30mins to get it right,,after that, EZ... ohh yeah cutting the hole takes some patience , but on the underside of dash,,GM made it formed out and ready for screws, so use template supplied and good to go...cost $525-600 with harness...have fun.. luv mine..

Hmm, I found this odd. When following the directions on the other forum thread and looking at the photos, I noticed in the photo there would be a screw and on my car it would be a 7mm hex bolt. And then when putting it all back together, it turned out that most of the philips head screws and 7mm hex bolts were interchangeable (same length, thread). I guess GM just used what was available or decided to change from one to the other for various parts for some reason...

hmmmm I'm kinda hesitant to do the HUD upgrade because most of all pics and videos it looks either blurry and/or double image due to the wrong windshield that came on the car with nonHUD, seems like a lot of work for something that doesn't look right, However....if I had a cracked windshield that needed replacing then I would have it replaced with a HUD windshield and then it would be totally worth doing.

All i can say is the "so called blur" is not an issue...try to take a pict of your blue AbL at night,,,it is hard not to get a slight blur...in any case...keep your windshield, install hud..and you will not look back...
but thats my humble opinion;0

Ya you may be right, I will keep an eye on this and other threads covering this issue, I am in no hurry to get a HUD, but when I do I will have it totally set up in my garage for the install and I usually am a perfectionist at these sort of things so it just may take me a few days to ensure I do it right.

I have had owners with 2011's look at it and said they could see no difference. It's hard to get a good picture. Mine has been installed for over a year now and love it, do it.

My car is the second car to have HUD Installed on the WEST COAST, and It is the FIRST 2LT/RS to have it installed. 2SSRS's (Ofer) car was the FIRST One and his car is a 2SS. My HUD was installed two days after Thanksgiving in 2010. I still have the original windshield and I have two small chips in it. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WHAT SO EVER with CLARITY of what is display?projected from the HUD Unit. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER - NONE AT ALL. If and when I ever NEED to replace my windshield I will get one for the HUD, until then it is not a problem or issue. Installing the HUD is ONE OF THE BEST MODS I HAVE DONE TO MY CAR.

I read most of the post above and agree with e comments about clarity. I had my concerns prior to installation, but it is much clearer in person like everyone has stated vice some of the photos. I tired for a few minutes to get a good pic with my phone, but they all came out pretty poor.

I love it. It was worth every penny. This is the best mod I have done. The image is solid and would help any one if they need it. Plus doing it yourself will guarantee the TLC required for this Job. It took me about 12 hours to do. But I was extremely anal about each step. The thread for the thread and the support of others made it a very successful mod. Thanks to all.

Well I have been maintaining THIS THREAD since November of 2010 and so far I have listed 43 Camaros that did not have the HUD installed from the factory, who have the HUD now installed in their Camaros. Maybe you should check the "VERY FIRST PAGE OF THIS THREAD" and it shows the infomation that I ask everyone to post after they do the HUD install.
