So I am really interested in getting HUD in my 2010 LT/RS! I am in the process of finding a 2012 leather dash that will be compatible with HUD, so hopefully I will find that soon. For those of you who have done this DIY, I just got my Camaro in June, and I am wanting to do all the mods on my own (or with someones help, but I want to avoid getting anything done professionally because it will be more satisfying to do it myself) I don't know a ton about cars but I am learning, would this be a good DIY for me to do? or is it too complicated? All of ya'll who have done it, great work! It looks awesome!

When I had my 1LT, I asked my dealer could I have it added and he said, "That is strictly a factory option." His response was one of the reasons why I traded up to a SS. I'm glad my dealer didn't know what he was talking about, otherwise I may not have traded.

Dealers will tell you it can not be Done. Ofer (2SSRS) proved them WRONG. There was alot of debate before the First HUD unit was installed, which was settled with the first installs. First installs took 8 or 9 hours, it can now be done in about 4 hours. Is it worth it, I would say YES. Can it be done by someone who does not have much car knowledge, again YES.

I want HUD on my 2010 but I am not qualified to do it myself. Does anyone know of a installer near northern Ohio that would do an install? I contacted a couple of dealers and they have never done it and don't plan to. I even contacted Becky @ Rogers and they are not interested in doing it either.

I have done the HUD install and live in Tyler Texas. I can help if you need it. I am so glad I did it. Took care of each piece removed and made sure everything went in just right. Took a bit of time though.

Thanks for the offer but I just don't trust myself to do the work. My guess the hardest part was cutting the hole for the display unit? Just curious how did you cut it? Does it come w/ a template?

You are correct. Cutting the dash took me the longest to do. Just didn't want to make a mistake. Ofer has a template that comes with his harness. I used his template and cut the dash using a dremmel. Came out great.
