The after market

Does anyone know of any after market intakes that are legal in Ca. I keep looking and sending e-notes to company's but get no reply, It's kind of sad that our wonderful lawmakers are killing off our-fun stuff out here.. I don't mind bending the rules a little, but I don't want go get slamed for outright braking the rules, I like the K&N, but no responce there either...

You might not find any that meet the same requirements as the OE intake setup, due to the factory airbox has an H/C absorber in it. I don't know of any aftermarket units that have an H/C absorber pad.

But, it is so easy to swap out. If you get a CAI, you can always swap back on the OE intake in 5 - 10 minutes.

Just look at ones that are C.A.R.B. approved...

As for K&N's, some are and some arent (i think)

There are none currently that are. They have tried but the process is such a PITA and they kept getting jerked around that they stopped trying. Just save the parts of your original intake if you are worried and when it's time to get inspected swap it on then off again. Most take about 30 mins or so to install so it's not a big hassle.

Mods: BBK Intake, BBK LT's and High Flow Cats, Corsa Cat-back exhaust, Hurst short throw shifter, SLP skip-shift eliminator.

I said screw the C.A.R.B laws. I put a halltech intake on and am doing longtubes and high flow cats. I have already learned that there is always a way to pass smog. A little extra cash on the side and you will find someone to pass you. My old 98 silverado had no cats and i never had any trouble passing smog. It's all who you know. Don't let silly nonsense laws hold you back from unleashing even more fun from your car.

Well thanks for all the input. There was a time when I would go outlaw all the way, but I do try to be somewhat good now. I just hate it when you get these people that arn't car people making the new rules. One of the sad things is that I can't even get a reply from companys that make these things. Oh well I may go outlaw again...Thanks again for all the input....
