question about silver stripes

My apologies if this has been asked and answered before. I'm considering silver stripes on my RJT 2SS. I believe that the stripe color is "switchblade silver". I notice that this color appears on some other GM vehicles (body color) as "switchblade silver metallic". Does anyone know if the stripes are going to be metallic also? As always, thanks in advance.

Go to my stripe thread for pictures of a red car with the silver stripes:

Hylton,

Thank you. I had seen that and like the look. I just can't tell if the stripe color is metallic.

Actually, the only stripe colors offered by the factory or the dealer are Orange, Black, White, and Cyber grey metallic.

...and silver if you are getting the rally stripes. Hockey stick packages are only available in black, white or silver.

Really? I don't remember seeing silver for some reason. Is it just a dealer installed option?

Yes it is dealer installed only. There are some changes coming to the stripe program so this may change.

I've always figured silver has to be metallic by default. Otherwise, isn't it just gray?

My dollar says it will be metallic. I am saying that based on looking at the stripes on my 81 Z/28. It has the silver stripe package and the metalic is very fine but defintely there. My old '90 IROC-Z also had silver stripes with a high level of fine metalic.

Yep - the silver IROC lettering on my 86 had some metallic in it. Not a lot, but enough to make it look silver instead of gray.

Thank you all for answering! I think RJT (metallic) with silver metallic rally stripes would be exactly the combination I'm looking for.
