For V6ers thinking about Heritage Grille with Street Scene.
UPDATE: Finally did this mod and the results are posted on page 2!
I, like most of you all, want to keep my Camaro unique and make it my own in a sense. I didn't buy the car to be one of the firsts around my area to have one, but even so....I was one of the first. Until I recieved my car I had only known of 3 or 4 others. Aqua Blue seems to help keep my car even more unique. That said there are more and more showing up, and thats a good thing! But you know how it is when you see a car that in its base form looks just "ordinary", but with some extra touches can still turn heads? Thats what I hope to achieve in part with some upgrades to my Camaro's face! If anyone out there is considering a Heritage Grille + street scene lower grill combo like I am, this could be the thread for you. I'm not sure when it will happen (hopefully by this comming spring!?) but I plan to do this. But I wanted to be sure. So I took some time to mock up a few photoshops of all the options I have been considering. Check them out below: Just for fun, I've added a poll as well. I like Opt3 or Opt 5 the most (because I love the lower ducts. May not be for everyone, but I dig em). Stock: (yes, light colors are different, I was testing the AAC bulbs!) Opt1: Unpainted Heritage Grille + RS emblem + Street Scene: Opt2: Painted Heritage Grille + RS + Street Scene Opt3: Painted Heritage Grille + RS + Street Scene with ducts: Opt4: Painted Heritage Grille + RS + Bowtie + Street Scene: Opt5: Painted Heritage Grille + RS + Bowtie + Street Scene with ducts:

I voted 5 but like all to some degree. I like the chevy emblem but it is almost to big for this grill, without it almost to naked. Ducts are o.k. but like it without also.I am on the fence on any grill still as you can see, but on my black car the stock one looks good and isn't as noticable so not sure about any change yet, but I hear you on being different and I have always tried to be that way with cars. Thats why I did my color combo, is rare also.
Good job with the pics, they sure help to see different choices and to compare!

I went with 5 as well. And I agree, change the bowtie color. I say black, but outline in ABM.

I'm sold on option 5. Maybe leaving the heritage grill unpainted though. I like the way you think, stealth mods that don't take away from the car but still make it a head turner. Good thread, great examples! I might just do this to my Camaro!

Like 3. Don't like the big bow tie, if it was smaller, maybe. The ducts look cool.

I want to vote option 6. Basically take option 5 and remove the RS emblem.
I voted option 3, because I think it looks better than the bowtie + emblem. - X

Thanks for the resonses guys!
Many have mentioned changing the bowtie colors...well I think I will be doing that as well (not sure to what yet)...so in the photoshops above I just left it stock. I agree the bowtie is kinda big, but I'm afraid it looks a bit too naked without it there...my opinion. As said before, its between 3 and 5 for me. Losing the RS emblem is something I didn't consider because I know forsure I want it on there, but everyone has different tastes. Makes the world go round I guess.

Have not purchased yet. If if order the heritage painted I'll probably get it through Garys Customs (hes a vender here), otherwise if I get it unpainted, and then paint later I'll just order it online. Several sites have it for around $250 to $260 shipped.
The street scene, I'm not sure where I'll order just yet. Street Scene has a website, but does not appear you can order directly from there, so I'll probably just do some looking and find the cheapest vender I can.

I guess I have closest to option 4 (no RS) and I really like how it looks.
![]() For you I would say do option 5 since you already sound like you like the ducts. I went with a silver vinyl overlay on my bowtie to tie in with my stripes. I think if you decide to keep the bowtie, one painted ABM in the center with an outline matching your hood spears (white or silver, can't tell for sure), or vice versa would look sharp, and Gary could do that for you as well. Also, I ordered the Street Scene grille from http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/ for $150, but this was without the ducts. |

Option 5 is too busy with all the mods. I'd go 3 and lose the bow tie but keep Heritage and the ducts.
You can't go wrong, regardless!
