That's huge to let your son borrow the Camaro. It shows you love him.

Growing up my stepdad was the same way with his sweet 91 Z28. He never let me borrow it and all of a sudden one night he was like "Hey, why don't you take your girlfriend out in the Camaro tonight?" I drove it like a grandpa all night because I didn't want to do anything to it.

Slip him a few bucks and I'm sure he could take care of it for you.

My guess is you'll still be waiting for him at 1:00. I can hear it now, "But Dad, I had to go get gas so you would have a full tank in the morning."

I wouldn't let my son drive my car. Maybe if I was in it but not alone. V8 and 17 year old boy don't mix well especially at night time after partying...

Oh ya, make sure he cleans the inside of the front windshield, don't want Mom to see the footprints.

Since you are more worried about your car than him being around drunk teenagers (which he will), I'll assume you brought him up right so as not to take stupid chances, get caught up in peer pressure, and to respect the trust you have given him.

Let my son borrow my vet for his girlfriends 21st birthday..they called for black ice after midnite so we called and warned him to be home early...Guess stupidity kicked in cause his girlfriend wanted to stay and party he let her dictate his better judgement. About 2am I am wakened from a deep sleep to be told he was furious that we didn't answer the phone and he had to walk 1.5 miles home in the cold. The roads had gotten slick and couldn't get car home and that he had damaged my car and left it on the side of the road. After I calmed down, we went back to the car and moved it to a safe location as that the roads were very slick and didn't want it hit by another vehicle. Needless to say the damage was less than $3000 and my son never drove my vet again. Glad he was ok but I think he knows that I will never loan it again..He is a great kid just a stupid girlfriend who only thinks of herself...looks to be my future daughter - in -law...

This.

I took my son out, right after I got my SS to, teach him how to drive a stick. Despite having a motorcycle he had trouble with the clutch in the Camaro hasn't wanted to try again. Must be his size 15 feet.

He knows that anytime he wants to go again, I'm game. This is what dads do for their kids.

My little bro asked if he can borrow our Camaro for prom in a few months...seeing as he has only had his license for a few weeks, and we just put LT's on it, plus 315's on the back, I'm guessing NOT!!!
