it's a toss up of exhaust and double din audio/nav with a subwoofer system...so far.

nitrous is the cheapest way to horsepower, not necessarily the best way though.

Muffler delete = $80-$120
Axle back or cat back exhaust $400-$2k..ish
tune = $350- $700 then there are custom tunes ?$ kinda open there
CAI = $300-$500ish
Level 2 suspention, sway bars and springs = $600-1500

Those I think are about the best for the $, from there just figure on your budget and what you want. SCs are great just at least $6k and up from there. Then of course you have your cosmetics, and thats from under $5 to what ever you want to spend.

For me it was the lowering spring and sways from Pfadt, then the MGW Shifter, then the cam swap headers and exhaust then the wheels and painted on stripes.

Solo high flow cats! By far this was the best bang for my buck. Instant loud and fast! This is the biggest restriction area in the exhaust. Second would be to replace the factory intake with a good cold air intake!

Just got my car two days ago but I have a CAI, Inc cold air and ADM Scoop and a complete exhaust system (XSPower http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113481). Both still setting in boxes.

CNC Spiral ported TB. $150 and hard to beat the HP gains AND the much improved throttle response.

Best mod for what? (Power I'm assuming).

For an L99 I feel the best mod is a tune. It completely changes the way the car drives. It's also common to pick up 30+ ft lbs of torque for about
$400.00 - $500.00.

For an L99 or LS3 long tube headers (not shorties) are the best basic mod. Axle back and catbacks offer very little to no HP. Horse power is found by replacing the factory manifolds and cats with long tube headers and high flow cats (easy 30hp).
A common basic setup includeds an intake, long tubes headers, and a tune. We have quite a few guys running low 12s in the 1/4 mile with just those mods.

Best overall bang for the buck is Nitrous. You can make 100 - 200hp with a
$1k - $2k setup. But Nitrous isn't for everyone.

A lot of great info from everyone. I think everyone has a different answer, but that's what makes this site so great. No wrong answers. Just different opinions.

Thanks for all the advice.

Jannetty Racing has a package for around $2000 where you get long tube headers with high flow catalyst, a cold air kit, and a very good canned tune. Really wakes the car up on the street and the track and gives it a nice mild exhaust sound when you get on the gas.

I've had it on the car for around 5000 miles of street/highway driving and 4 weekend track events. No codes or drivability issues at all. Simple installation. Probably the cheapest and easiest horsepower you will get for the car and still have it run reliably without worrying about damaging anything.

This. For the price and gains IMHO you will be very hard pressed to find a better mod!

This ^^^

And this http://marylandspeed.com/vararam-ram...un-p-3101.html

And SOLO highflow cats/mid pipes.

These are all things that you can feel the difference, especially for the money.

For me, it's definitely the 4.10 gears, so far! I felt more difference from those than my intake, exhaust, and tune, combined (though I don't regret any of the others either and I'm planning on high-flow cats next).

ARH long tube w/3" exhaust was the best bang for the buck. Then the CAI Airaid, and tune gave the next best bang for the buck. Now if I had more bucks I'd have the heads, cam, SC.

Air in and air out with a tune and you will be around 400 rwhp with 400 lbs of torque.

Bottom end and a cam kit will put you around 500 rwhp with 500+ TORQUE

SC on top and fuel delivery upgrades and you will be 700+ rwhp and 700+ torque

1500.00 stage 1
10,000 stage 2
8500 stage 3
all in for all three stages and you will have around 20K invested and still have the half shafts and suspension along with brakes to do.

Just do your own thing and do what makes you happiest. Good luck and enjoy.
