09 challenger R/T?

ok I was minding my own busy cruising I-10 in my 01 camaroSS with SLP option,i bought thecar new. and a new challenger came by and smiled and then thumbed his nose, so i got off atthe same exit as him just to do a drive buy where he stoped, we came up to a lite, on the frontage road, he looked i looked and it was on! It said R/T in big stupid letters on the fender so this was no SRT.so easy kill right? No! maybe he out drove me but at 100 he was still gaining so i said the hell with it and went to lonestar chevrolet talked to salesman about new SS. I'llbe looking for this guy!!

So you beat him but not by much? Remember that the RT has a 5.7 Hemi with 370 horsepower and 398 pound-feet torque.

I think he lost.

What did the dealer say? Keep in mind that your dealer is an idiot.

He must have lost, I guess what he meant was the RT was ahead and still puling away once they reached 100.. There is no shame, the RT has a more powerful engine than your Camaro SS..

Keep racing on the track where it belongs. It is idiots like you that get people killed. You certainly don't need to get a car with more HP than you have now.
I lose more Marines in stupid traffic acidents every year than I do in combat. That is why this hits home. Not trying to be a dick.

He's new and needs to be warned that dealers are idiots.

Obviously, I exclude dealers sharp enough to participate in the online community.

Sounds like he won the race but not the way he wanted to. Kinda like when your football team is favored by 31 and they win it on a last second play. Or like Ogre in 'Revenge of the Nerds' when the dorky fat girl almost beat him. He raises his hands and cheers then imediately sits down and cries.

I'll be lookin for a Challenger after I get my SS with a few Mods.
(On the track of course)

I'll be on the hunt as well. I've been noticing more Chargers and Mustangs recently. They'll make good prey as well.

Sounds more like he was getting beat, then backed out by pulling into the dealer. Keep racing one tracks were it should be. Too many lives get taken from pointless street racing, like this.

+1. I say be a dick, it's the only way to get thru some people. Being an ass to make a point is a small price to pay considering "one" can total their car and kill themselves or others.

Agreed. What does street racing prove...that your car is faster than a strangers? At the cost of other people's lives? Grow up.

+1 but on a track
But have you guys every raced to the speed limit from stop light to stop light.
Like if the limit is 70km, have you guys ever gunned it to see who hits 70 first? Obviously when theres no traffic ahead.
Even when im on the bike, i sometimes gun to hit the speed limit just for fun, its not dangerous if there are no other cars ahead of you, and its not like your speeding, just accelerating real fast

Ok, I have done that before, but only 3 times. That is one hell of a technicallity.

Still, getting into the 100 mph range is pointless, stupid, and proves nothing. If anything, it just makes you look REALLy dumb, esp if you lose.

I do this occasionally, but bear in mind that this is still illegal. You can get an "excessive show of horsepower" or similar ticket, or even a reckless driving ticket. Just be careful, and keep racing to the track.
- Xanthos

P.S. - in fact, I once almost got ticketed in my old camaro for revving while driving - there was a large SUV in the left lane, which was ending, and I was in the right lane. The guy just kept going and almost ran me off the road, so I dropped the clutch and floored it to let him know I was there, since I didn't have a working horn at the time. Well, a cop saw/heard and thought I was trying to race - I had to explain to him that my horn was broken and that I didn't want to get run off the road. Like I said - be careful.

Oh, that's still illegal? Oops... I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

I know what you mean about the not working horn thing. I've had to do that a couple times before (not nearly as effective though seein' as I'm in a Sunfire...). Drivers around here are crazy!!!
