First of all that's illegal to change a person's coverage without their approval first.

Second, most insurance companies know the approximate value of replacement parts and take those numbers into account when figuring the coverage cost. If an insurance company is surprised by the cost of something, then they didn't do their homework like they should have and deserve what they get.

Well...anyway...im getting the aftermarket HUD...i dont feel like waiting for 2011 for them to say Yes or No.

People...if you wait till 2011...The world might have ended by then. Its just better to get it now...and get the aftermarket HUD

That's the thing. You don't look up and a waterheater is falling off a truck right in front of you (happend to me once).

People need to chill and stop and think about it for a moment...

It's delayed because of cost and if this car does not sell good there is no reason to bother ordering 1000's of hud units or having to buy them now with money that does not exist.

What? Not sure I follow your logic. If that was true, then GM would be selling a bare frame with wheels and a seat because the other items would cost too much.

GM wants to build a good car and will take their time doing so. That said the more options / choices added to it, the longer it takes to build them. The top of the line versions 2ss 2lt come with plenty of toys now. It's all about organisation and speed in assembly lines. The more they build the cars alike the faster they can make them to keep up with demand. When demand slows they can afford to slow production and add more options and variations to peak interest again. It's simple business sense. Yes other issues may come to play like readily available supply new technology being developed and tested to replace old one. Anyhow I've seen some videos with cars with HUD and it looks freeking great, It's like you've got Terminator vision all this extra info right in your line of sight were it is easily viewable without being distracting like looking down at your bright gauges and changing your night vision/focus.

BTW has it been confirmed it will be starting in the 2011 model year? I remember seing somewhere Dec 2009. Thanks.

Originally it was but has since been pushed back to June 2010 as that's when we can start ordering '11 MY's.

Is this just an assumption? It's kind of what I assumed the delay was about.

I have HUD on my 2008 corvette, it came with the 3LT package. To be perfectly honest, I played around with it for awhile, it gives a lot of information and is fun to use but it's basically a toy. The only thing I use it for is the speedometer, I scrolled through until all the other gibberish was gone. Do I want to spend my time looking at the tach, gas gauge, oil pressure, g meter, oil temp, etc while I'm driving? No, I can look down at the regular gauges whenever I want to see that stuff. I guess the HUD would be handy if you're on a race track but hello, most people don't race. BTW, I don't know what's so distracting about glacing down at the regular gauges, it's been working fine for most cars for last hundred years.

It's been talked about before the windshield is specialy made and cost much more than the regular windshield, you may be able to put some kind of specialy made reflective tape on the regular windshield to make it work but no one knows for sure.
