Exclamation Medical Marijuana & Living in California

Chronic pain sufferer here. Thinking about moving out to California. Maybe buy small Condo out there. Just looking for a place on the west coast to chill, make new friends, have fun and smoke some buds in peace! I like the vibe of NorCal but never been up there. I like The SF Valley in L.A. I'm retired and financially good. Advice, suggestions, tips, etc, very much appreciated in advance.

What's a good area for medicating?

Colorado is a lot cheaper...... and no medical approval needed.

I HATE California. It has some of the stupidest laws in the country.

Good ideas to keep your permanent residence in FL. The taxes in CA will kill you.

You need to research each area of the state for cost, political and culture differences. You would be surprised how absolutely different each area can be. Pick the wrong area and you will hate it. Keep in mind, CA is a super majority blue state.

I agree but Calif offers the best deal in terms of MM for people with chronic pain and Colorado gets cold in winter. Where in SoCal is best to live near the beach, low col, etc?

Colorado is a Freezer in winter. I'm republican and agree the laws in CA are strange, but the state has good MM laws for people with chronic pain.

I understand, and this is why I am asking questions here.

Thx.

The only good thing about California is the weather. Everything else is pretty terrible. High cost of living, high taxes, restrictive laws, terrible people and getting worse all the time.

And don't bother bringing your Camaro, it will never pass state inspection. I see a Prius in your future.

If you need a good agent that will not steer you wrong, contact Al Ricci. If he doesn't handle the area you want to move to, he will give you a good referral.

I hear you 100% ... I love FLORIDA ... but it will be minimum 3 years from now before MM is sold in local shops or dispensaries

Just be sure to leave all of your guns and any wish to mod your car across state lines. The weather here in San Diego is unbelievably awesome, but its very expensive to live here, and the taxes are high so we can pay for a bullet train.

All of this. I don't know how much pain you're in man, but you'll experience a loss of joy moving to this god forsaken state, along with a severe loss of money to taxes and housing.

Heh...I was born and grew up in L.A....would never move back at this point.

Seattle's pretty nice, and the rain is overblown in many ways. Summers are 80 and no humidity. Fall & Winter are grey mist. The rainstorms I get here in Durham, NC get heavier rain than most Pacific Northwest rainstorms.

I've been in Denver as well a lot recently...nice town, and I'm even thinking of moving there...we'll see.

Thanks for the honesty. I understand 100%. Being Native Floridian I'm happy in Florida. I lived in Los Angeles once back in 89-95. I enjoyed life in California back then but realize it's different now. I enjoy target shooting at the range (I like Guns), muscle cars, old school BMX, typical guy stuff. I am Republican but have liberal views. I would choose Colorado but never been to that state. I already know the San Fernando Valley area in LA but traffic, overpopulation, rude/materialistic mindset is common out there. No kids, divorced, early 50s. I'm financially set. I would never be a leach off society and I enjoy volunteering with abused/rescued Animals.

Bottom line Medical Marijuana helps my pain immensely. No other remedy does what MM does. Florida is at least 3 years out from the day people can walk in to a store a buy it.

Any other ideas?

You are between the rock and hard place. It seems the only way to receive the relief from pain is to move to an oppressive state like CA where liberal laws and policies could possibly do more harm than the relief you receive from the treatment of MM.

Good luck with your decision.

You could move to Amsterdam.

I considered Amsterdam but living in Europe is cold and Europeans are not so open to Americans. Most foreign countries, owning an American exotic like the Camaro ZL1 is expensive, dangerous, etc. I'd have to give up my hobbies like target shooting, muscle cars, etc.

I might consider a visit to Denver.

I would say San Diego County. Oceanside area. Maybe Mission Bay Area. San Diego doesn't get quite, as bad traffic wise, as other parts of California. If you have a 4x4, there is some good off-roading down here. Your also about 5 hours from Vegas.
