aboard ship, your laundry goes into a giant nylon bag with many other people's laundry. They are washed and dried in huge commercial machines, then the bag is brought back to the berthing area and the clothes are thrown on your bunk. Without name tapes on everything, how would you identify your clothes?

and just for the record I'm a Petty Officer lol
