I just noticed something

Everytime a see a picture of the camaro from the front and think, "man that is one beautiful car - those lines are beautiful," I look again and realize that it is the V6.

I want the V8 for every single reason except the front end. I wish I could have the V8 with the V6 exterior.

LS3 engine option from GMPP...makes a V6 turn into a V8.

They should bolt up in the same places. That can be arranged. Likewise, you could drop this under the hood of your V6 and sell the LLT. You might need a bigger hood.

It would be a hell of allot easier to change the front clip of the car than to change the engine. Allot cheaper as well.

Maybe find someone who has to settle for a V6 and swap fronts with them.

Are you trying to hide your V8 to surprise people? I think your crazy.

I like the SS better...I honestly didn't care for one over the other, until I saw them both in person. While the V6 facia has very beautiful, clean lines, and it stays VERY close to the concept...the SS's front end is more menacing, and much more aggressive looking when you see the two next to each other.

Different trans as well. Definate reflash of the ECM.
As already said, just swap the front fascia.

Putting a v8 in a v6 model is probably a mistake. They are not the same transmissions, manual or auto, and are not rated for the torque of a v8.

When using the car properly...you'll find that you don't even notice the front end...but you will notice what's under the hood...

^Very true. I personally like the V8 better. And I know we won't be looking at it in this direction, but I love this shot...

I know this is Jinx's shot and it's not the one I'm looking for. But, if you look at the downward shot of the front end, it looks too cool. I like the added flare of the lower valance.

Always liked the V6 front better. It looks much more in line with the rest of the car. The 'cheeks', fogs and lower grille on the V8 front look awkward to me.

SS looks much more aggressive, I agree. Though they do both look nice.

I agree with you as well. I technically have enough money for the V8, but it pains me to spend an extra $6-$7k for the V8, plus added insurance costs when at the same time it will really put a strain on my budget to upgrade to the V8. The fact that I like the look of the V6 better makes the decision a whole lot easier for me. And besides, I currently have a 2002 V6 Mustang with around 190hp, so the difference between that and the V6 Camaro should be quite noticeable I think.

I always liked the simpler lines of the original concept that is closer emulated by the v6 facia. The front facial would only run you around 700 from GM (guessing) so get that and paint it. of course the only thing missin g would be the mail slot an that I like.

I also have always liked the V6 facia better, much cleaner, less busy. I wouldn't mind the mail slot if it were functional. I've never like fake scoops, vents, etc. And from what I've seen, it's not going to be easy to make that slot functional.

I like the SS lower grill, but I hate the fake scoop. If they were separate parts I would mix and match. Oh well, nothing is perfect.

I agree with you in the fact that this has crossed my mind quite a few times before when looking at pictures. I do like the look of the V6 and would love to see the SS with the V6 front bumper and the mail-slot as well..

However I am getting an SS because I want the power of the car.. If it was me making the decisions, I would have made the SS as close to the concept as possible... I have seen the SS and V6 Camaro in person and both look aggressive to me.. However the SS does look a little more aggressive in its stance do to the suspension and larger wheels..

In the latest auto show in Miami, they had the V8 engined and suspension along with rims with the V6 bumper in the RS package. It was the red one that was at the World Series.. I know that wasn't an accurate representation of the 2LT V6 RS because of the lower stance and larger rims but it looked beautiful the way it was... I'm sure down the road if it bothers me that much, once I get the car paid off I'll buy a custom V6 bumper with the mail-slot as I'm sure somebody will be selling it..

The slot is too small to be of any factor if made functional... It was purely for looks to begin with from the design. A functional one would have to look like the Bumblebee one in the new Transformers 2 movie...
