Is handheld tuner matched to the pulley?

So I'm considering installing a supercharger myself. My question is if I get a smaller or larger pulley than what is standard at the time or purchase, will the SC company have the handheld unit matched to the different pulley or not?

MagnaCharger will only provide a tune for the stock setup. (Generally 6lbs)

Nope, but a remote tuner, such as Jannetty, will need to retune your car. Why would you go with a larger pulley?

Whipple comes with a pulley that produces 9 lbs. I don't know if i wanna start out that high. Maybe 6-7 and work my way up. It seems that once you go beyond 9lbs, you need to start making other changes. 5-7 seems a good place to start on a daily driver that may only see 100 - 200 passes a year.

Damn, 200 passes a year. Good for you. I only made about 50 or so and I thought that was alot. I had no clue Whipple sent you out the door with that much boost. Seems kinda dangerous on a stock block. But I surely undersatnd why you'd feel more comfortable pulleying up. Prob a gd idea.

Down here we get to race year round. I thought 9 lbs was a little much myself, but a local tuner told me he thought they did that because most people will get smaller pulleys anyway, so why not do it right from the manufacturer. The Whipple comes with injectors and a BAP to handle the 9 lbs, the E Force does not come with either. I think that one is 5-6 lbs.

Just like the Maggie. Sounds like the whipple is more oriented to the racer. Where were they in Sept of 09? You should be fine at 9 psi with the bap.

I am so torn on which one to get. There are pro's and con's to each unit. i have also read the install instructions for them, and that didn't help eliminate any of them. DAMN!

Flip a coin. All there of the ones that you mentioned will make you happy. The whipple including the bap is a great selling point. Thats another $400 if you add that to the others and the whipple has the smaller pulley. Gd luck in your choice. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Thanks, maybe someday I'll grow up and run 10's as well. That's the goal.

Bolt on a whipple/maggie and get some drag radials and you'll be there!

The whipple will give you a lot more room to grow no doubt. It also is available with a tuner from Whipple, or most good vendors will have a tuning option for you. I know we're working hard to put those tunes together for our customers looking to order the blower kit & then get the mail order tuning done at the same time.
