3rd annual Buyers & Builders Oshawa - TRAVEL ROUTES

Attached below some the main travel routes for this event. I am going to try to put together groups as I am not sure which way I am going yet. It is easy for me to go from Cincinnati around the west through Detroit or around the east through Buffalo. I am putting the maps out there so people can look over and see if they would be interested in Camarovanning up. I put together a rather large group to Valdosta last year and it ended up being great fun.

Please post is you'd be interested in joining up with one of the groups. I will try to keep track of everyone and get information out as soon as I can.

Once we get some people together, I will probably ask if someone wants to step up and be the POC (point of contact) for each route since I can’t be on both.

Post up your thoughts and ideas here. We have some time but it will be on us before we know it.

POINTS OF CONTACT:

Montreal Area - RickRay = Rick

Ottawa Area - HYLTON = Hylton

Kingston Area - Hiney1 = Gary

Oshawa Area - mrbrans5 = George

TORONTO Area - CanadianCamaro = Scott

ALBERTA - Ravirn = Jason

ONTARIO - 427Carl = Carl

UpstateC5 (part NY5thGEN) - trm0002 and 3Camarosonhand = Trent/Andy

NY5thGEN - 1969to2010 = Mike

Detroit and west - CynAgain = Cindi

Ohio/Indiana/KY/WV/PA (west) - jrhaus76 = Jason

PA (east)- SEPA5 - sscamaro = Ralph

Chicago 5th GEN - Orange5thGen = Steve

Deep South - CajunCamaroChic = Lisa

VA - Blackhawk6 = Terry

NEC5 - PAUL SS = Paul

ROUTES:

ROUTE 1: from Southern USA

Time frames have yet to be determined but with this route we would have to make Oshawa by Thursday night. We could plan pick up stops to gather other groups from the surrounding areas.

As time goes on we can finalize times but as I stated, this route would have you arriving in Oshawa on Thursday night.

*** This route will actually cross at the Sarnia crossing, not Detroit. *** It will combine with ROUTE 4 in Sarnia.

ROUTE 2: from Northern MidWest USA <---- CLICK!!!

Time frames have yet to be determined but with this route we would have to make Buffalo by Thursday night. Friday mornining we would join with Upstate NY 5th gen and cross inot Canada with them and complete the drive to Oshawa with their group. As time goes on we can finalize times but as I stated, this route would have you arriving in Oshawa on Friday morning.

ROUTE 3: From Eastern USA

North/West through 1000 Islands

ROUTE 4: from Northern USA

Grand Rapids MI, through Sarnia border crossing, to Oshawa. This Route will join with Route 1 in Sarnia and continue towards Oshawa together.

TRAVEL ROUTE #5 - Montreal-Ottawa-Kingston-Oshawa

The time has come to start preparations for the Route down Thursday 9 June 2011. As you know most of us will be arriving Thursday night at the Host Hotel. What I need to know is for you to CONFIRM your presence at the following CHECK POINTS. Some of you have already taken this trip and we'll be stopping at the same check points.

I'm told that passing through Sarnia is MUCH quicker than Detroit.

That is the way we have gone for the last 2 years, you might want to check it out.

If I go that way, we will meet up. You talk to Heather and Tiffany and see what their plans are. I will likely GO the east route then come HOME the west route...

Not sure yet. More people I know to meet up with going the east side but its a bit further for me... maybe an hour.

Buffalo for me. I'd have to meet up with you in Erie as I'd come straight up I-79 from Charleston.

A. SAFE for my car to sit out.
B. Close to where we will meet up with you.
C. SAFE for my car to sit out!!!!

As long as its not INSANE expensive I dont care. Just give me some ideas and I will beat the pavement and see what i can come up with as we get closer. Just point me into a direction...

Its likely there will be a group of us... multiple cars, so I'd want to run some things by others once we get a decent list.

I did this for C5Fest. Its a lot of work but in the end, the drive is so worth it. Something about seeing 50+ Camaros blasting down the interstate!

In Buffalo? Might as well keep driving another 90 minutes and go straight to Oshawa.

I'm sure the Ottawa-Montreal gang could meet up in Kingston
with the North-West Group...There is a huge Petro Canada
gas bar with lots of room...I'm in no problem...
Basically Route # 3

That would put you in ROUTE 3. I didnt carry the routes out far, just enough to see the different border crossings.

I did carry ROUTE 1 all the way south b/c there are a few coming from down there so they could see their best route to join with others.

I don't live in central PA. I live in eastern PA, near Lancaster. GPS shows going up the east side like map #3. Going west, I would be traveling west as far as Butler and then going east again after entering Canada. The eastern route is all 4 lane highway. You still have to go around the lake after Buffalo.

But the other guy camaro1lt is in CENTRAL, not Eastern PA... That was to him. I agree, you should go around the east of the lake, Central, Western and Ohio, goes through Buffalo.
