Retro Badging ?

Would anyone consider putting on retro badges the the SS, RS or V-flag(except Z/28 of course) from their favorite camaro on their new 5th Generation ride? Even more, would you consider 69 style quarter panel louvers if they were available on the aftermarket?

Possibly on the emblems. No way on the Louvers! If there is anything I hate seeing on a car these days it is those f*&^%&g stick on vents every ricer has on there car.

67 and 68 are the only ones that had the V flag emblems, after that they just put the Cubic Inches on in numbers and after the mid 70's I don't think they put them on at all until they went to the Liter emblems...
I would rather see Cubic Inches than Liters, or maybe the Horsepower...

I always thought the 68-69 Z/28 emblem was the best looking, I never liked any of the other Z/28 emblems.. and of course the origonal SS emblems are best...

Maybe I should have clarified by louvers I meant the Trim over the "Shark Gills" as they were on the 69's

No, I got your meaning. I just think that adding any trim that is not supposed to be there looks tacky. Even the ground effects kit being offered by GMPP looks like an after thought to me. They disrupt the lines of the car.
I've had some time to think about the emblems since I posted earlier and think that adding 1st or 2nd Gen originals is not for me. I would however consider something designed for the 5th Gen which has the same feel as the earlier ones.

I could not agree more. I think GM put enough retro-theme into the body as is and does not need retro badging, but that is just me.

I tried at dealer to change my order (eliminate sunroof and add RS package to 2SS) and just received word from them that if it were to be done I "would jeopardize my place in line". Does this make sense? Can anyone give me a concrete answer on this? If we are in the pre-order stage and GM has not yet picked up production orders from dealers, although workbench orders exist, why isn't it possible to change an order without risk?

Consider the value of a modified 1967 big block Corvette as compared to the value of a 1967 stock big block Corvette. Why not use that as your guide?

^ well to me the second one is worthless. A car is worth more when it is an extention of your personality. Not when its orginal. It may be appraised at a higher value, but its just like everyone elses. To me your car reflects who you are. How you present your self with your car defines your character.

BTW: To quote Blur. YOUR DEALER IS AN IDIOT! you cant lose your spot for changing you order.

This question is off topic, but:
I'll call

You can change options on the car as long as you don't change the model type. You may even get a new order number. But, this will not change "your place in line". As long as orders have not been pulled for production, "your place in line" is only with the dealer. They can change the your place in line whenever they want until the day the car is released to production.

EDIT: oops..sorry Beast I didn't catch your response regarding this

It's crossed my mind. I love the Vette flag emblem but I always thought it a bit poseur to put on a Camaro... but it does look nice.

I wouldn't mind this either

My first car was a 68 Camaro and I not sure what you are talking about with the V flag? Mine had 327 on the front of the fenders where the Z/28 were placed. Are you talking about the flags they put on the 67 fender after the wheel?

I'm seriously considering taking all the badges, bow ties and names off the car. It'll make it vertually invisible to ricers when I unleash the 426 ponies! Insert evil laugh here!
