something else for the vert fans out there,in the g.m. parts catalog, there is a maroon top listed, not yet available of coarse but sounds like somewhere down the line there will be an option for a maroon conv.top,

I found something related to this in the January issue of Motor Trend. It says the 2014 Camaro, ATS, and CTS will be on the new Alpha platform. It goes on to say the Alpha is flexible enough to handle a larger than CTS chevrolet performance sedan. I'm guessing this could be the Impala that would share parts with the Camaro.

P.S. As for the new V6, I don't understand why they are putting effort into making it E85 approved. I would have thought a LS and LT standard turbo DI 4 banger with about 250 hp would be the next step with the current V6 becoming a option.

better get a better 6speed Manual Tranny for the 6 banger before throwing more power at it... it hardly takes the LLT's

Wow.

All these changes going n.

I wouldnt be surprised if the v8 got some changes as well. We already know a suspension option is available.

Looks like GM wants to win in 2012....

I think the best news of all this tidbit is that the ecm is changing from a bosch unit to a delphi unit which will now more easily be tuned from a tuners standpoint especially for power adders such as superchargers and turbo's.

With 330hp my guess is this will go in to the Silverado also.

And a 2012 Camaro with this motor and the FE4 suspension option would be a blast on the twisties.

HP isn't as important as torque in trucks...that being said the only V6 I ever want to see in a Silverado is a Diesel.

a reworked 4.2L I6 from the envoy would be perfect for the silverado base motors. They are very torquey 6 cylinders.

With vvt on the exhaust and intake and some DI i bet that motor could be 350-400hp with 350ft-lbs of torque.

E85 is a joke. The stuff burns at 2/3 the btu's of regular gasoline. The price difference at the pump does NOT make up for the loss of mpg's....My dad and I did a test in his Ford pickup on a long road trip. We ran both types of fuel through the tank and it turned out that regular gas was more economical than E85....Say what you want but I've seen it with my own eyes, E85 is a ploy...

Perhaps the Impala and Camaro will be sharing engines, but I doubt it'll go on the same platform. Unless they made a name change, the FWD Impala is reportedly too far along in development to make such a drastic change to RWD.

Now there supposedly is a RWD sedan coming to Chevrolet in the form of the Holden Commodore in the near future.

The LLT is already a great engine. I would be suprised if the fuel mileage didn't increase along with the horsepower. I don't see them changing to this engine just because it can run on E-85.

I wound what the compatibility of the LFX parts with the LLT would be. I imagine it would be the same basic block.
