The December 2010 Camaro sales and production figures have now been posted and what the data reveals is that 81,299 Camaros were sold in all of 2010, beating out the 73,716 Mustangs sold in 2010 and 36,791 Challengers overall, as well as in December 2010 alone.

This ends the Mustang’s 23 year reign as the muscle car sales leader. Congrats to GM and all our Camaro owners for producing and owning the 2010 muscle car king! December 2010 and overall 2010 stats are as follows:

Delivery (sales) Stats:
Camaro December 2010 Deliveries (actual sales): 5,614
Total January 2010 - December 2010 Deliveries: 81,299

Production Stats:
Camaros Produced in December: 7,075
Camaros produced in 2010: 94,433
Total Model Year 2011 Camaros produced to date: 47,216
Total Model Year 2010 + 2011 Camaros produced to date: 176,621

Compared to Competition:
Mustang sold 5,452 units in December 2010 (total of 73,716 in 2010).
Challenger sold 3,330 units in December 2010 (total of 36,791 in 2010.

Chevy's stepping it up, only two models offered for the camaro and beat out the mustang with 6 models, vert and hardtop of v6, v8 and gt500! good job chevy!!

very good,this is including the heavy discounts that ford put out there to move the mustangs before they started to beef up the stang to try and keep up with the camaro,they are all nice looking rides,i really like the looks of the chally but i have always been a chevy guy,

the mustang will probably regain its crown, after its redesign in 2013.

Now if only the prices would level off(instead of increasing/dealer mark-ups), that would really boost sales. Consumers could get them off the lots rather than having to order/wait...

And count me in as one of the last people to buy one in 2010 in the state of Florida. My wife and i drove off the lot with our new 2011 1SS Camaro at 9:00pm Dec 31st.

Depends on individual circumstances. I feel i got a GREAT overall deal with a trade in and being DEC 31. I got a 2011 1SS/RS With Automatic/Stripe Package/Premium audio/Premium mats & cargo mat for just over 34k. That's the RS package for FREE. On a model that isn't so easy to come by. Had to drive over 50 miles to locate a 1SS/Auto

They also gave me $8,500 for my 04' CTS 3.6L stock with 90k on her. $450.00 neon 3rd brake light had just burned out to boot. That's WAY over what that car was worth as a trade in. I doubt i would have gotten $8,500 selling it myself.

That being said i really do feel Stingray Chevrolet gave us a really nice deal and was very low pressure yet aggressive in getting a deal done NY Eve or not.
