that looks pretty close to victory red to me. one would think an orange would be more...orange.

But, hey- Im the one that thinks that a "very dirty black" looks like CGM.

So there you go.

either way -- nice vid! and thanks!!

It really is to bad that color only looks orange under incandescent light and not orange when out in the sun… I really wanted an orange Camaro.

On the other hand, SIM blows me away...

I don't know...I have seen the Colorado and Solstice in sunlight, and they are orange enough. I think it depends on the person looking at it. I think it definitely different than the red. You just need to see them both together then afterwards you will be able to differentiate it.

im sure you will be able too, but it seems as if they look like shades of the same color instead of two distinct colors

This looks great in videos....but in person, that Solstice from Indy in IOM just didn't cut it. Maybe it will look better in person on the Camaro...I dunno. Regardless, I would have liked to see a bit more orange tint to it like Killer

Trust me; this was the toughest decision I ever had to make. I searched dealers far and wide to find a vehicle with IOM so I could see it in person. Finally the local Chevy dealer in town received a IOM Colorado. I have studied that Colorado in every light possible, sun shinning, rain, night, over cast days, ect ect ect…. I’m sure the dealership thinks I was sizing up the place for my next big score… IMHO, the only time that IOM looks orange is at night with all the dealer’s parking lot lights on. If the color looked like that in the sun I would have ordered it. In the sun it looks dull, almost like tomato soup…

IOM is still a cool color but it’s not the orange I wanted. :(

When most people see the color they ask “Is this the Victory Red or the IOM” because the colors are that close to each other. The color should have been named Inferno Red Metallic.

Welcome to the Site
As for the IOM, the first day i saw it was in the sun and it was exactly what i expected, i wished it could be more orange, but its still a beautiful colour that changes as you walk by it. Im sticking to my colour, it will definitly suprise the people who might mistake it as red pulling behind them, as they see orange as i blow by them.

Video or pictures, I think it looks great in man-made lighting, especially convention centers, or even outdoors at night in lit parking lots. From the pictures taken of the camaro body at the (safety show?) to the video here, it looks very orange and very similar to the concept with inside lighting. In bright sun however, and normal outdoor locations, it goes very nearly red, and is a bit of a disappointment, too much tomato soup. A really orange orange would be good! Still, I like it enough to be ordering it.

Maybe GMPP should offer convention center lighting kits for our garages

When I took that pic, I didn't even see the guy on the ground.
There were alot of people around the car at all times.
I wanted to take some good interior pictures, but there was a lineup to sit in it (!!!). When I did get seat time, I took it all in without the camera.
This was, after all, the first time since the 2002 Toronto Autoshow that I was able to sit in a brand new Camaro!
Like in '02, where I sat in a red 4th gen on the last day of that show, till the last minute (a GM guy politely asked me to go home), I almost shed a tear...this time of joy!

Great pics Ted, I'm just getting ready to look at the video. Sort of off topic, perhaps you know what is up with CheersandGears and if it will be back up, I have not been able to get on there in several days. And welcome to the Camaro5 Forums!!

Cheersandgears was down for 3 days, while we switched to a new virtual server host.
It is up and running right now.

Yeah, there are a couple cars floating around my area in IOM: a Solstice and a Hummer H2 - very good examples. The Solstice gives you an chance to see the color on smooth, curvy surfaces while the Hummer gives you a chance to see it on flat surfaces. It tends to redden more when it's on a flat surface but even then... in person, the orange really pops, even in sunlight. You can't judge it by looking at photos - especially since some people have different ideas for what orange should look like. If anything, it's a very bright, burnt orange.
