You may have seen this already, but Corey, my builder, said "this thing will either go like hell or go into a ditch backwards at a hundred miles an hour." I need to do something to earn some

That was a GREAT DAY

Since it was commented on, here are the pics of "Time to make the donuts."

At the time we did this, I don't believe my wife had ever been in a car that departed normal flight rules on purpose... I was pulling out of the turnout area and told her to hang on..."whut...."lol, I stabbed the clutch, hammered on it and jumped back off the clutch... Our first time around we went at least thirty feet backwards, while powering forwards banging into the rev limiter... I knew I was either in deep deep trouble or she would just ignore my childish ways...

About half way through it she started giggling, and I knew it would be ok...

A little funny about the trip home from Wyoming... We had just left Carlsbad Caverns, and arrived back in the Great State of Texas... We are coming down a very very long straight highway and it's one of those undulating roads that just keeps going up and over these little spaced out hills. I was behind a puke-up driving 8 - 10 mph below the speed limit, and since I wasn't in too big of a hurry, decided to hang back and look for a "safe" place to pass... Well, we got to one and I down shifted to 5th and pulled out... This knucklehead decides it's time to race... I just pushed on the gas a little harder and easily went right on around...My wife asked what that was about, and I explained that too many knuckleheads want to challenge a car like the Camaro... either to see if it really is fast, or to make a comparison with their own p.o.s...

Quite a few hours and several hundred miles later, it's dark, we just exited IH 10 onto Hwy 290 headed towards Harper and then on to Fredericksburg... This is another long straight road with lots of up and down areas... I'm behind another puke-up... this one one of those "bad a&&" Toyota's. He is also driving about ten under the limit, I lived in the area for about 20 years so I waited until another safe area, and shifted into 5th, pulled out and guess what happened... There is a little puff of smoke from his tail pipe, and off to the races he goes... I suppose he got a phone call about the imminent delivery of a chicken or something... Well, by this time I was tired, road weary and not in the mood... The moment I saw the puff of smoke and the squat of his truck, I slid the shifter back out of 5th, around the horn and into 3rd... This was at approximately 70 mph by this time...

(Those of you that drive the LS-3, know that from 70 or so on, in third gear is magic... These cars fly... 70-110 in a heartbeat...)

So, I jam third, dump the clutch, and I believe that guy is still looking for the headlights and license plate I sucked off the front of his truck as I went by... The funniest part of the whole thing is as I grab third and start to jam, I hear this little voice from the right side of the car........

"oh, he is going to be so disappointed..." I liked to of died laughing...
We had so much Fun That Day

I'm hoping for a few pictures today.

Two friends of mine from the SACC are going to my builders shop. One of them is having exhaust cutouts installed.

My builder told me yesterday that they have a huge pile of parts for my car... enough to make a grown man cry...

I give up... I'm going to go back outside and work non-stop until it's time to go home, in a little over two weeks... I e-mailed with Corey, He told me today, that he has told his shop hand that he was going to bring my car in and start tearing it down.

The car is apparently at Coreys house in his garage or barn... and his shop help keeps chewing him out, since they are not sure exactly when the short block will be in... he did drop the heads off since the springs and valves etc..showed up yesterday... They will be ready this time next week...

He is still applying gentle and friendly pressure on the short block company but it might be another week.

The bonus is, it wont take any longer to finish it since they didn't have to pull my block and send it off, so as soon as they know the arrival date of the short block, firm date, they will bring my car in, tear it down, take care of the fuel system and rear suspension... Then it's a matter of putting everything together, pulling the front clip, swapping the motor and clutch, and going back together... and then alter (redirect energy)the exhaust a little....

This keeps stuff from being scattered all over the place, and drives me nuts cause I want to see pics of something... I need a Brandi fix... Bruce, got any good unpublished pics of the Speedster... just one... maybe two... Doug...??? :(
