I'd say no, but only because the daughter probably wouldn't be driving, just as everyone else has been saying.

I say no for the simple fact that a lot of crazy things happen at prom/homecoming. Im only 20 so I was a senior 2 years ago and if I had this car then I WOULD NOT have taken it.

I would say no, even if your father was ok about it and he trust your boyfriend but my own experience in life " never ask anybody for his/her car even if you are getting married "

I start learning this when my brother 15 years ago gave his car to his best friend, and while 2 of my bro was on the car they got bad accident on the freeway one of them died the other spent 6 months in hospital after 20 fracture.
It wasnt the friend mistake but it resulted dramatically.

again, please go without your father car even it wasnt a Camaro.
wish you a good time in your prom, and have fun.

That is so true.

I used to know an old biker who had a tee shirt that said: If you have to ask, the answer is NO.

my 2 cents: I can appreciate lobbying for your position... But, respect the decision of the one who pays the insurance, the car owner, your father.

I've let my 18 yr old son drive mine alone on short well defined drives, after he proved he could handle the responsibility while driving me around. I'm not to the point where I would be comfortable allowing him to drive a friend or girlfriend without me or his mom in the car though. That said it's less about trusting him and more about how I would handle it if something happened to the car or even worst to him or the friend.

I do hope your special homecoming is everything you want it to be. The event can be a cherished memory. ... not so much the drive to and from.

My boyfriend and I have a homecoming at school which is almost like a prom and we have been asking him to negotiate with us to get to use the car. My dad told me to post a thread about this "just for fun" but I think that if enough people think it would be okay to take the car for just this one night he might just change his mind and agree to it. So, people if you read this please say that you think it is a good idea!
Thank you for all your help!
I think this was a "good Idea" on your dad's part. Now you know the answer.
This thread will last right up till the homecoming starts I think.
