I'd definitely say no. I know how much people in high school like to show off, and with as much power as that car has, it'd be very easy to accidently lose control and crash. Only was I'd say yes if i were him, is if he rode in the backseat for the night to supervise the use of his car. Sorry..

Save it for college graduation or marriage-

not the prom or homecoming

I'd NEVER let my daughter's boyfriend even think of driving my new-scratch that- ANY of my cars.
Seeing as how that's only hypothetical since I'm just a senior in high school, I say take a limo. As responsible as we think we are, we're only as responsible as the other drivers out on the road. We can try to avoid an accident all we want, but if we get hit by someone else, it's no good. There's hell to go through with insurance, time lose on the car, and a nice chunk of change lost in resale.

Maybe you could just compromise, and have your dad spring for a limo.

Didn't say it to offend the fellow members who drive LS Camaros. I suggested this because the replacement value would be less on an LS than on the 2SS in the event of an accident, that's all. I still wouldn't lend it out regardless.

with the proper insurance, it should cost the same. as long as the deductible is the same.

Get a Limo with some friends. You'll have more fun. SS is too much for a senior in high School... SORRY!

My boyfriend and I have a homecoming at school which is almost like a prom and we have been asking him to negotiate with us to get to use the car. My dad told me to post a thread about this "just for fun" but I think that if enough people think it would be okay to take the car for just this one night he might just change his mind and agree to it. So, people if you read this please say that you think it is a good idea!
Thank you for all your help!
I understand that this thread is as you put it is "just for fun", what I have a problem understanding is why would you think if enough of us were to say it would be alright for you and your boy friend to use his car that he might change his mind and let you take it to home coming?

He knows you better than any of us ever could. You`re the one who needs to convince your father that you will be responsible for his car. I`m not so sure that any of us carry that much weight to persuade him that it`s alright to use his car. So if you want a yes vote, then I say sure why not, it`s not my car.

If he does let you use it I hope you have a good time. Take some pictures and post them if you would. Good Luck.

My 17 yr old daughter has driven my blown camaro a half dozen times, but i make a point of saying NO when she asks. when i need it moved, etc, she always says yes and gets a chance to drive it, and seems there is always an extra stop involved to show someone. then throw a boy into the mix that just wants to try it once......grad involves booze, and kids thinking they are now adults, and think they are instantly responsible if something happens.
sometime sorry doesnt fix things when bad things happen. in the case of my 16 yr old son....no effin way in hell will he ever pilot my car. he thinks its fun to strap cookie sheets under the back wheels of a front wheel drive car--and going drifting...lmfao.

That's true. Nevertheless, NO to the girl and boy taking the C5 to the home coming because even if the this girl and her friend take care of the car some jealous punks could do something bad to it.

I would say NO....not my Camaro. Have dad help you rent one.

Honestly....even at my age if I were going out to something similar to a prom I would have to really double think taking it myself. I would think that I would worry way to much about it sitting outside. Not saying I wouldn't take it but I would definately worry about it the whole time.
