Does the head unit re-program take care of / transfer XM radio automatically? I've got a lifetime sub, and the less I have to actually talk to the special folks at XM the better...

The 2010-2011 unit also lacks the CD player correct? Is it possible to get one with a CD player from a newer model that still works with 2010-2011?

Thanks!

Man this has me so interested. Currently saving up to do this swap (love the newer radio so much, but don't want to lose the stock look). I do have a quick question. I have a 2010 with Navigation through OnStar. Will this radio allow me to pair my navigation with let's say, my google maps? Or would I have to still continue to use OnStar? Sorry if this was addressed before... I tried to get into your other thread but it seems to be deactivated.

I have a 2014 1LT RS and a mylink non nav, I want to install a back up camera. Can you reprogram my mylink to have the back up camera? can I trade my mylink for one of your units with nav and camera? Do you have installers in Southern California? Or do I need to plan a road trip havasu?

.

I was in the "First Group Buy" and had maintain the FULL OnStar Package, which of course included the OnStar "Turn-by-Turn" Navigation. Once you have the MyLink with Navigation, you can forget about using the Turn-by-Turn Navigation. You NO LONGER NEED IT, also if you compare the two systems, the MyLink Navigation is so MUCH BETTER then the "POS" OnStar so called Nav System. When it came time to renew my OnStar subscription I DROPPED the one that included the NAV.

Had some questions i was not able to find about this.
  • Do you need to have a Onstar or XM active account?
  • NAV maps? how do they get updated?
  • Since i 2012 and a camera in the back going to mirror. If i add a camera can it be used in the front of the car? how does it display? only when its in reverse?

On the 2012 with the camera in the mirror, it has backup lines. I understand the standard mylink does not have those lines.

1. With the splitter, will those lines remain
2. Will those lines also display on the MyLink paired with the 2012 camera?

On the 2012 cars with lines in the mirror, there built in to the mirror not the camera, so you will not have them on the Mylink.

I've been following your development of this upgrade. I've just bought a 2010 ss last week, that means I' going to join the group in purchasing this kit. I wonder if the group buy option still available. If it is, I would like to get a kit with Nav and Camera together. Please P.M. me of what can I do from here? Thanks for the great work and great offer to the community.
