I can never get over the fact that the scoop is fake on a $50k+ Shelby or whatever other model they have.....

....even if it doesn't do crap, it's just cheap looking.

Yeah call me biased but at least our non functional scoop is on a much cheaper car and it is more subtle. I think the SS' scoop adds character to the car, while the Shelby's looks like they tried to slap every mod they could think of into it

our fake mailslot can be made functional by removing the plastic and adding the vettes CAI that fits in the same spot! Theirs cant be turned into anything!

Out of the three, The challys scoops has the best potential for functionality

OK Ok lol I will say they are even between the chally and SS. Personally I'm gonna look into that CAI, can't remember the name of the company. It should definitely fit on the SS same engine and mailslots about the same size! That thing actually breathes on the vette

the thing about that is the engineers have told us that there are structural supports behind the mail slot, so if you cut them out, you'll need hood pins & some extensive modification to support the frame.

Ummm... that's a GT not a GT500. The hoods used on the GT500, KR, and SuperSnake are all functional.

What GT500's have you been looking at. Please show me what has been slapped on. Unless your referring to the Shelby GT, but that's just a GT/CS with FRPP.

The mailslot is functional in the Vette because the hood pops the other way. The hood latch is right behind the mailslot. So like zebra said without extensive modification there's no way for the mailslot to be functional.

Sorry to do that, but I love the GT500 and must defend it. On a different note, I do hate the fake scoop too. I think they're retarded and pointless, spend a little extra money and get a functional hood.

I don't think we have any room to talk when our SS has a fake mailslot and fake gills on the side.

And good luck to anyone trying to make that mailsot functional; have you seen an underhood picture?

I hate that the mail slot is non-functional. It seems ridiculous. Chevy must be planning on a functional hood in future model years. BTW the gills were never functional on any Camaro.

I never said I didn't like the looks of it. I hate that it's not functional and therefore IMO pointless.

Wow, you really aren't paying attention. I said even the more expensive Mustangs such as Shelby's all have fake scoops. I never said anything about the picture.

Yea but if you could read you'd see that I wrote that Shelby's don't have fake hood scoops, all the GT500 hoods are functional. You actually quoted me saying that, how do you mess that up?

You have to understand, it's hard to differentiate between the 35 different "special editions" that came out...just last year.
