New guy here (confused)

I have been reading on this forum for an hour and feel more confused than ever. I'm considering a SS and need to know how to get the best price.

My father in-law is retired GM employee.

He is giving me his $2300 GM dollars with a bump to $3000 if purchased before 1-31-11.

Can I combine both?

TIA

by the way, great site. someone did a nice job putting together...kudos

Welcome to the site, jimxo. Lots of info for those qualifying for the GMS discount can be found at www.gmfamilyfirst.com. I have bought several vehicles using the GMS discount and different rules and discounts apply to different vehicles. If you are looking at a 2010 there are some extra EVA (employee value allowances) available. This means more cash discounts. There is some 2011 additional discounting available. Check with your dealers to see how much GM credit card bonus cash is allowable. Good luck shopping.

As long as his card is the 'GM Extended Family Card' it CAN be combined with the GM employee pricing!

GREAT time to buy a Camaro with those savings!!

most of the GM cards out there cannot be combined with the GM employee price. Like said before...unless it is family first card.

If you have GM Family First Card it can be used with GMS pricing. The card must belong to the same person as the authorization number is issued to.

Welcome and there are a lot of good folks on this site that keep things going strong. The information stream is incredible. It also saves your sanity if you order one as opposed to buying one off the lot. Go the 2SS/RS...you won't regret it at all. Especially the IOM/IO...just saying because I am highly biased!

I guess when the Zs are ready in 2012 I'll have to call Anna, order one, then go back to MI to visit old friends.
