I guess the sentimental value and because I actually love this truck makes it more special...So cool to drive.

It has been since last November since I got it back so idiot thinks he is in the clear...oh how wrong he is...Soon as I get the paint and interior, chrome estimates he will be getting a nice letter......

Thanks Norm for posting the other pic, I do appreciate it.....You da Man

I appreciate it Mike

Well made it home safely and of course had to stop by the gas station to fill Hyde up.

Took Hyde to the tranny shop to have the shift linkage/kickdown cable adjusted and now it shifts alot better and more consistent.

Decided to take Hyde around to the body shops to get some estimates on painting him....That was a PITA...No one really wanted to fool with it but I did get some estimates...No one wanted to put the estimate in writing but the did tell me bewtween 7k to 10k to repaint it

I ended up taking it to the guy who painted my stripes on my Camaro and he is willing to do it. So I will take it to Robbie once I get all the mechanical stuff done. He said it would take about 2 months to finish. The good thing is his shop is about 3 miles from the house so it will be easy to check on.

The plan is to get it mechanically sound, take it up to his shop and then take it apart....Motor, tranny, wiring etc......so it will be easier to paint. Once he has teh bosy work done and painted we will put everything back. He will then put the front clip back on and get everything aligned.

After my running around I check ole Hyde over and found a couple of leaks...nothing major just need to tighten up some fittings.

Butterfly linkage still is wanting to stick and that isn't a good thing so we are going to re-do the linkage to alleviate that.

Matt is working on the tune and hopefully tonight he tries the new tune although I dont know if he will be able to test it since it is pouring down rain today:( but it will get there in time I am sure.

So close but yet so far...at least I can drive ole Hyde

Yeah kinda high but everytime people look at it they dont know why I want it painted till they really LOOK at it then they start noticing the things I do...Problem is THEY do not know what is under the paint so to give me a warranty is kinda hard for them without taking in all teh way down...they are kinda trusting me and him to an extent on the body work.....Just a messed up situation.

F5....you are so correct. Even though it is not completely finished and I still have some things to take care of that popped up on my drive......I really don't think people understand what it means.

I did talk with Uncle Paul and let him know Hyde was ALIVE

I had also sent him an e-mail of the picture by my garage after the initial drive. He sent me an e-mail back today saying that he was pleased even though Mom and Aunt Connie didn't get to see it.........

I can only imagine his surprise when I get it running right and I show up at his house and tell him to get in and take him back to that old country road we used to drive on some 38 years ago and play the music we were listening to the day he buried the needle and hooked me on this old truck...Don't think a dry eye will be in the truck or from Mom or Aunt Connie looking down on us.....Soon very soon this will happen.

I don't know...LOL it still is a 63 Chevy Truck albeit a faster than stock one

Once he gets the tune adjusted we willl see what it will do...but this is made the old way....all STEEL.

He is adjusting in small increments so as not to torch the motor......He said he will have some improvements on it when I get back from the fest so we will see. I can only imagine how 500 will feel in this thing.

Matt calls it a head turner and tire burner.

When I get back from the Fest..I am going to take some pictures of Hyde and Jkel and get them posted... My plan is to take it to Fbodygathering next May since it will be 50...Chad said it would be no problem and Scott ( Fbod) said it better be there or he'll send the suburbans.

Well made it home from the Fest safe and sound and imagine my surprise when I got home.........Matt had the A/C working...no leaks.........no drips and it was cold air BUT as with anything else on this truck we quickly realized the vents are too small.:(

They had put some cool LOOKING vents in teh dash but they are not really functional so when I have it painted I will have some new dash vents installed, currently they blow staright back and cant be adjusted from side to side.

We also have fixed the headlight/parklight/turn signal issue. We had crossed two wires in the switch when we wired it so a little trouble shooting and now the dash lights, park lights and headlights all work.....Not bad for my first wiring job to only have two wires crossed.

Slowly but surely the little things we found on the shakedown runs are getting took care of and THAT is a good thing...Hopefully real soon I get to go to the ole country road with Uncle Paul.

Worked on Mr. Hyde last night

We did a little playing with the tune and quickly realized one thing.....injector size is way too small Luckily I have another set of injectors thanks to Randy (PQ)....The only thing I have to do is change the connectors from the wiring harness so they fit the new injectors and get new connectors.

Seemed to have the header leak fixed......I put multi-layer metal gaskets on it so hopefully once they are sealed then I will be good to go.

Power windows didn't work so we fooled with that for a little bit only to realize that fuse was bad Note to self when things do not work check the fuse first

Still working on getting the speedo working.......The computer shows the speed but it does not register...Gonna call Classic instruments today to see what the deal is.

Temperature sensor switch should be in today so I'll change that tonight and re-wire the fan control...currently we have it wire to come on when the A/C switch is on. When the switch is fixed it will come on at 185* and go off about 205* and it will come on anytime the A/C is on. I am wiring it up so that it even runs when the truck is turned off and will cool it down to at least 185*.

Making Progress and that is a good thing. Did take it out last night for a little drive which is always fun.

Good stuff! I gotta get my fan(s) straight. They just want to turn on and stay on. I know the switch it bad, it's just getting around to swapping it out.

That is how mine was originally wired up but Matt changed it so that it would come on a 185 and off at 205...He made some kind of relay that has a fuse that is easily accessible and walmart sells if you are in a bind.......What happened was the switch on the block went bad but it will get replaced today. It will run until the motor cools down to 185 even if the key is turned off.

Yeah...I spent most of the time helping out at the autocross but I am sure we will meet at our next event.

You need to think about coming to Fbdoygathering in May...really a cool show...no racing but just a cool show and alot of parking lot action, BS'ing...really a good time.

Mr. Hyde has an appointment Monday afternoon at the upholstery shop. I am taking him by and getting an estimate and schedule an appointment to get the interior installed, Stereo installed and get it fixed right up.

Normal interior shops that are worth their salt usually have a big back log and this one is no different. So hopefully Monday I can get an appointment.

I know this shops work...they did an 1985 Chevy truck for me about 20 years ago so that is a good thing.
