IPHONE

I don't have one. I was just wondering what others thought.
MerF, you know why this thread is here, I think.

Overpriced imo. The person I live with has one and loves it though.

Only part of it that really impresses me is the internet surfing capabilities.

I'll wait until Verizon gets a version of it. For now my new LG enV is more than enough for me.

I love the features, especially how it handles photographs.
I'm waiting for them to work out the bugs and the price to come down a little before I pull the trigger on one

I want to know why in the heck Sprint can't come out with something other than the freakin Treo. All these other cool phones are out and none of them can be switched over to Sprint....from my understanding.

Blackberry is sprint.

I won't be getting and iphone either. Anything that bears the apple log will never be in my possession. Too many old memories of IIGS and OSX. Hunter Cressil comes to mind.

Treo does suck, blackberry is amazing, iphone is decent from what I hear, but too many kinks right now, it's about as popular as Windows Vista.

My opinion; ALL CELL PHONES ARE A NUISANCE!

Seriously though, they're good to have with you should an emergency arise, and they do make life easier.

But they can also make it more dangerous. Is it just me or have others seen increasing numbers of people driving while talking on their cell phones or worse yet texting while driving!

(Man, that sounds like the ranting of an old man.) :o

I drive and talk with my bluetooth headset....hands free. I hate drivers who get so into their conversation, that driving becomes second important to them. Fast lane...one driver in front of you...driving 55-60 in a 65mph zone...refusing to get over...you see the phone in hand...they never know you are there or that they are pissing people off because all of their attention is elsewhere....and I now want to blow up your car. Texting while driving is going to become illegal here very soon.

I played with an Iphone, its nice, but not very configurable like window based phones. I would rather put that money to good use..... Camaro Savings Account.

Although Tag,
The HTC Wizard is now available for almost every carrier, for me its the Cingular 8125, for T-mobile its the MDA, Verizon the XV6700 and Sprint the PPC-6700
I have had mine over a year, it kills the Treos and Blackberrys IMO. Some highlights are: Windows Mobile 5- which includes Word and PowerPoint, Touch screen, bluetooth, infrared, Outlook, i can sync over 10,000 contacts ( I only need a third of that though), the list goes on. I love WM5 over Palm(treo) anyday.

Something to look at if you dont like the Treo, and its a year old technology, so its getting cheap

Yep. Talking on your phone is illegal here. It has been for some 2/3 years. But guess what? 40% of drivers still do it.(sigh). I don't mind it, if you pay attention to the road, But if not...Hang up! Will ya?

Hopefully our new Camaro will come with bluetooth capability

As for the IPHONE, I think it's really neat. But there is no way that I'm going to throw away all that money on a phone...uh, uh, not gonna happen. I've got AT&T, formerly cingular, and it's great! I'm using the Cingular Sync, (it was named before the companys merged). I'm never without a signal, and I live out in the boonys. I have never had a dropped call, unless my battery runs out, either. Enough about that

IPHONE=

My boyfriend's brother got an IPhone the day it came out, but he can claim it for work and write it off on his taxes (lucky SOB lol) It is a pretty cool little phone I have to say!! Not so much "phone" to it as there is "computer"... But it's still pretty awesome to think that in this day, we can fit all that information into such a small hand-held device! I remember back in the day when I used to sit at home watching Saved By The Bell, dreaming about Zack Morris, and watching him talk on his clunky silver "cell phone" that was really more like a cordless! lol Look how far we've came since the 80's!

I'm not sure how the enV got in there with 2 phones that have many more capabilities (Q/Blackberry), but I just got an enV over the weekend and really like it.

I was deciding between the LG VX8700 and the LG 9900(enV). The 8700 is a sexy looking phone, the only reason I didn't go with it was the QWERTY keyboard is just so convenient on the enV. Both got high reviews on cNet.

I've had 2 LG phones previously (most recent was a VX8100) and have been VERY happy with them. I keep my phones 2 years then upgrade with the 'New Every Two'.

I'm even such a dork that my ringtone for the enV is the transformation sound from Transformers.

Apple IIGS didn't run OSX... Apple IIGS bad memories are just like IBM AT 8080 bad memories and 64kb memory expansion boards. You should try a modern, secure, operating system that works called OS X.

I've got two iPhones. One for me, and one for the spousal accessory unit. I've had all of the major smart phones at one time or another. Blackberry, Palm, etc... Windows based, Symbian based, and now OSX based.

An iPhone is a PDA, iPOD, Internet browser, and cell phone. The calendar, contacts, and screen were why I made the change. I don't like cell phones much, but carrying around my calendar in an EASY to sync bundle along with some pictures of my kids is great.

I listen to my iPod a lot. Now I don't carry the iPod and carry the iPhone with my TV shows, and music around while I'm waiting for the train. My Spyder has a iPod port and though it wasn't made for the iPhone it works. I can run the music through my radio and select songs fairly easily.

I've browsed and posted to Camaro5.com a few times using my iPhone. Sitting in meetings people have said something and I've looked up the information to verify or roast them. Since it is the REAL web I see web pages much like I would see them on my laptop screen.

The thing that is hard to realize is unlike Microsoft or Symbian based phones the iPhone just works. Don't listen to all of the haters (we all know about Chevy v. Ford right?) listen to the people who have bought one and are using it. It's nice to have tools that just work. No fiddling, no special nothing, the device just works. And have you seen that gorgeous display?

I have had 3 Razrs and they were all junk. They would push buttons on their own and all kinds of crap. I felt bad about having to get a new phone because my boyfriend got me the Black Razr after it came out for Christmas one year, and I absolutely loved it! But it got to the point to where I couldn't even send a text message or make a call. I called Cingular and they said there was a recall on them and they would send me a new one. When I got the new one, it lasted maybe a month and the same thing happened. So I shipped that phone off too and got another one, but by that time I was so frustrated, I was like forget this! Now I have a Sony Ericsson 525a. It's a very good phone and I have been very happy with it. Atleast I can actually type text messages and make phone calls without the phone shutting itself off!!!

Too much.

In response to the person above who states "it just works". I know I never said it didnt. In fact, as a web browser I think its nice. If it were priced a couple hundred lower Id probably have one.

I agree as a webbrowser it does a great job for its size. But Id prefer something a bit larger and not linked to a cell phone.

As a phone I wasnt impressed with its sound quality.

The Cheapest Plan is 60 bucks a month, but you get free E-mail, and Web, 200 texts, and 450 rollover minutes...cool, actually. I'm sure the phone itself will cost a little more than that...

Just give it some time and like all other electronic products, will come down in price. I bet in 5 months, it will be $300 on ebay.
