Thoughts on MGW shifter

Just wondering everyones thoughts on the MGW shifter for the LS3 M6. I read all the threads and it seems nothing but positive praise except for some buzzing noise on accelleration. Has this been resolved and are there any remaining issues?

I'm having my transmission replaced in a week or 2 because of several issues and I thought it would be a good time to change to the MGW! I now have the Hurst Billet aftermarket shifter with T-handle but I don't like the extreme hot or cold feel of the metal handle. The throws are nice and short which I do like! Was thinking of the MGW with race handle!

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats on your new tranny. I also read all positive reviews on this short shifter.

I have the MGW and really like it. The slight sounds you can hear just under certain conditions are no way bad enough to make me switch back to the original GM shifter(which isn't all that bad IMO). The race knob option I have is made of a material that can tend to amplify the sounds of the gears as they mesh. Not bad enough to get me to want a diffent knob or shifter. The "SS" race knob looks and feels REAL GOOD. This is coming from a Camaro owner that does not like to modify anything away from stock without a darn good reason for it. I am VERY picky about my car. This knob feels MUCH better that the huge stock knob IMHO. Even if you do not change the shifter from stock you could just change to the Race knob and get the benefit of better feel. It is that good.

MGW is the only shifter that will give you a stiffer shifter gate centering spring. That feature will help you to avoid missed shifts when driving agressively. All the others are still using the factory internal gate centering spring. No argument there.

Hope this helps,

-Mark.

This sums up my feelings about the MGW. I highly recommend it.

I have a MGW shifter with a race knob on my car and it is smooth and precise shifter. I also like the fact it is a complete replacement shifter. I have no noises or rattles. Get one you won't be disappointed.

I had a Hurst in for a while but didn't like it. Installed a MGW and I am quite pleased. As far as vibration goes mine doesn't vibrate, but I don't encourage it by resting my hand on the shifter either.

The read on this is very nice, http://www.mgwltd.com/camaro2010_sho..._shifter.shtml and i may consider myself. Probably doesn't correct the 2-3 slight noise i hear when shifting so i'm holding off until i get my tranny looked at.

Just pulled the trigger on one! Getting the retro with black knob & white stripes! Can't wait. I talked to George today and he said all buzzing issues and bushing problems are resolved! I'm getting the street version which reduces rigidness but is quieter! My tranny is getting replaced next week, i hope, so I'll have the dealership install the MGW while it's all apart! I'm completely stoked! New tranny and the best shifter on the market!

I got the MGW with the retro black knob with the white "SS" just before Christmas. Could not be happier with it. George is first class.
