Header choice

Which headers would provide the best gain with a tune and a Cold Air Inductions CAI?

I did search it first. I went through about 10 pages and didn't find any posts with dyno charts or "hp gain claims". Sorry if I thought someone who knows headers would give me their personal opinion.

They're saying that mostly because this is a question that gets asked 2-3 times a week.

Bottom line is most of the brands are going to be within a few HP of each other. Everyone is going to come in here and tell you to buy the ones they have so it usually doesn't help a whole bunch.

You're just going to have to read up and decide on the ones you want and can afford.

The general rule of thumb is to go with 1 7/8".

Some brand names you can search on (in no paticular order). Just a few off the top of my list and not the only ones to look at.

Long tubes with either 1-3/4" or 1-7/8" primaries will give you the most gains. Don't forget your hi-flo cats too. Brand is up to you. Either get cheap, made in China knock offs from eBay and run the risk of a failure or get a solid made in the USA set and know you'll be covered.

Ceramic coating or header wrap will be good too as it will lower under hood temps and give your CAI colder air.

If you don't have money to burn you look up OBX headers. Just don't post that those are the ones you are getting cause it will start a big riot.

That is true... but hey get what your budget can get.

They are lots of good headers out there. Choose wisely my friend and get 1 7/8's
