Escort 9500ix direct wired where to place smart cord?
I had my Escort 9500ix Hardwire install done yesterday and they mounted the smart cord on top of the steering column on the dash. The light shines directly in my eyes so I can black it out with electrical tape but if I want to run my RD in dark mode then you use the smart cord for visual alerts, may not hear it if my JL subs are cranking.
Any ideas on where to place it? Last edited by Silver_Surfer; 01-19-2011 at 10:07 AM. Reason: typo |

I am installing mine on Saturday and am wondering where to put my smart cord as well. In my GTO I had it installed behind a dash panel and just the lights showed through. There were 6 little decerative holes on either side of the steering column. Just had to widen one for the mute switch. Looked awsome. On this car I am struggling to find a suitable spot for the smart cord. Someone has hae come up with a better spot than the top if the steering column.
