Exclamation accident advice, PAINT/BODY shop help!

so yesterday some lady slammed on the brakes after swerving from my lane into a turn lane then back into my lane and i ended up hitting the back of her car barely. she is truely at fault but the insurance companies might not believe it since "i hit her."

the damage is very subtle and just on the front fascia a dent pressed in about a foot long. i got a few qoutes a Seidners for new bumper and paint and install they wanted 1100 dollars, which seemed rediculous.

then i went to L &G enterprises aka custom truck shop in san dimas and they qouted me $444 for paint and $325 to fix my bumper or $390+ tax for an entire new bumper.

are these good prices, what should i pay for each????
and if anyone had any reputable good shops for paint/body?
or places to buy a bumper (v6 or SS fascia) cheap?

SO CAL
thanks for the help in advance
nick

Nick,

If I may make a recommendation, try taking it to Covina Collision Center, 621 N. Grand Avenue, Covina, CA (626) 915-2770. The owner's name is Jaime and they do outstanding work over there. That's the only place I take my cars to for fixin'.

They are located on Grand Av., just north of San Bernardino Road.

If you want to get another quote, PM me and I'll get you an alternate recomended body shop from a buddy of mine who owns his own mechanic shop in Covina.

You can check out: gmpartscenter.net
to get an estimate on your parts.

Allen

I have a guy in Glendale. Body Shop, but on the side, he builds race cars. At age 17 he restored a 68 Shelby Mustang from a burnt out rusted shell. The shop does great work, and this is a guy who knows how important cars are to their owners. PM me is you are interested.

I'll be amazed if her insurance company don't blame you for the wreck since you rear ended her. They'll say you were following to close most of the time. Good luck hope your rates don't go up. Sucks either way to have your car banked up.

can't help with the shops advice, but maybe with the accident.

any witnesses? sounds like she made an unsafe lane change and CAUSED the accident. it doesn't matter where the damage occurs. of course, her insurance company will blame you and yours will blame her. don't talk to her insurance company, but do talk to hers and tell them you refuse to admit liability.

i'm an attorney in southern california...PM me if you have any questions

EDIT: i don't do this kind of law, so no, i'm not looking for a client, just offering some free advice (in case anyone thought i was jumping at the chance to make a quick buck for myself)

Having recently been through something similar, money will be an issue, because depending who you are insured with, some are difficult to deal with and often don't replace the fascia pieces unless cut through and sometimes not even then, they send them to be refurbished. This may not be as easy a changeover as you're thinking, because you will be out of pocket for all the parts that they deem do not need replacing and the associated hours of labor.

I had some minor rear end damage fixed and my stripes added in paint at Lloyds Auto Body in Ontario. David Lloyd is the guy who does my paint work, great at matching paint when fixing body damage. I know the fascia is not cheap, but if you are considering a grille change like the Heritage grille, now would be the time to do it, as you have to take the fascia off to do those. Good luck.
