Question Removing rust on the rotors

Didn't know if should post this in brakes or detailing, but anyway, does anyone have any successful experience in removing and also preventing rust along the wheel hub and outside edge of the discs? A couple of the wheels show some ugly rust in these areas that are not in contact with the brake pads and just takes away from the look of a nice shiny wheel. Any suggestions? also, I do not drive the car in inclement weather, so no road salt issue there.

thanks in advance.

Go buy some high-temp black (or whatever color you want it to be) spray paint. Spray the entire rotor lightly, evenly and one coat. Set it dry and install it back on the vehicle. Let the brake pads do the rest of the job by taking off the excess of paint. Everywhere else will stay that color for the most part.
