I'm gonna make passionate love to the interior the first night in the garage.

If you don't care for it, there will be a million mods for the interior.

The Challenger interior is just the 300's interior. Which is fine if you want to old man your muscle car.

I LOVE THE CAMARO'S INTERIOR!

I can definitely see how people could feel differently though. The Camaro's interior is unlike anything else on the market and besides the fact that it's aesteticly pleasing to me, that is the main reason why I like it so much. Most people aren't as comfortable with change I guess, but I don't won't the everyday double-DIN, huge Nav screen sweeping arches interior that everyother car seems to have nowadays. The interior on the car is decidedly CAMARO and CAMARO only. It doesn't strike me as retro either; I recognize the retro cues but the Camro's interior mirrors exteriors in that it is a practice in creative minimalism and moderation.

I think some of you guys that hate the interior will need some time to warm up to it because it's design is so off the beaten path. I've sat in the Mustang and although the interior is nice... that's all it is. It's not exciting, not inspiring, not unique... but it is very boring in that euro-classy sort of way (if you're into that more power to you). I on the other hand am ready to sit in the spartan and stylish Camaro interior and enjoy every last one of my 400 ponies.

PS
Every review of the Camaro has celebrated the interior's design and layout, but criticized the (pre-po) materials. My thinking is if the materials are on par with the Mustang's which they love so much the Camaro's will get thumbs up all around from the automotive press.
+1

I am not buying a camaro for its interior, just the exterior and under the hood. Otherwise I'd buy a caddy

I have to agree with the OP, in fact i have grown to hate the interior so much that i am looking to go to the blue oval with my next car even through the Camaro's power train is light years ahead of it.

I also love the mustang's new interior though.

I just wish the camaro's interior wasn't so bad i really wanted a new camaro.

That's exactly what I said when I purchased my GT500 but you would not believe how much flack I received from folks on LS1GTO (my previous car was a 2006 GTO) about buying a car with such an "awful interior".

Between you and I, while I think interior layout/design is an important/the important thing to some people, the vast majority of buyers will overlook that area if the car delivers in other areas (i.e. performance, exterior appearance, etc.) they hold in higher regard. In the case of the GTO owners, I think the GT500's lackluster interior was just a flimsy reason that they used to justify not buying one instead of just manning up and saying they wouldn't buy one because it was not a GM product.

Have you sat in it, yet? Reason I ask is because pictures do the interior a disservice.:(

I love the interior! Especially since you can buy or paint the trim pieces. I will be custom painting alot of the stuff inside.

IMO the interior is pretty cool. It's different/unique. That's all it is.

I was lucky enought to sit in #3 in when he came through St. Louis and I really like the interior...I had a 67 Camaro and I feel the interior in #3 is a retro/modern interior and I really liked it...it was also very comfortable.

That is good to hear. I look at the way the center stack comes out a little and I think it will make it easier to adjust temps, radio, etc. I have to really lean forward to change the station in my current beater.

I fell in Love with the concept but I absoltely HATED the interior! It was so pimpy ad gawdy!

My word has it changed. I'm not crazy about it still, but its way better than sitting inside the concept's fur wearing, medalion wearing ghetto pimpy living room!

I don't see what's so ugly about the interior. I think it's perfect. The mustang and challenger need alot of work. All of those ricer cars I sat in were extremely uncomfortable and akward.

I know that everyone has their own opinion but personally I like the interior. A nice mix of retro and futuristic components. I am more interested in the seat comfort and ergonomics of the interior and not having sat in one reserve my opinion on that. The overall look I feel is clean and thought provoking, look at the discussions here. I sat in the Mustang at the LA car show and was not impressed with the interior and the ergonomics and absolutely hated the door speakers, looked like cheap 1960 aftermarkets, for those reasons along with all the other positives about this car is why I am buying a Camaro rather than a Mustang.

I did sit in a LS this weekend at the car show, and it confirmed my original worries about the interior, specifically the main RPM and Speedometer.

It really sucks too because you can't beat the powertrain on the SS, even if it is a little heavy it should be an awesome ride, probably somewhere between a vette no/z51 and a cts-v. (which would be perfect for my DD needs)

But i just can't stop ogling over the new mustang interior, i wouldn't have designed it any different myself. I love the dash how it comes down a bit in the middle. I love how less shortened the "tubes" that the rpm and speed gauges are, and the simplicity everywhere else. The only thing i would have changed is the power outlet location.

And to top it off Microsoft SYNC w/NAV man I would love that have that kind of technology in my next sports car!!!

It's the only reason i am consider the car even though it won't be any faster than my current 01 SS and i am gonna miss that 6th gear and low end torque, but i never go to the track and hardly ever road race.

Opinion Just from the pictures

My opinion just from the pictures since I haven't seen one yet for real is that the solid black interiors are too plain looking and boring, that is the reason I changed mine from black to Gray, the gray contrasting in the door panels and dash set it off better. The bright colors of the Special order interiors to me are too Ricey... The guages to me are good in all of them, the radio and heater controls and nice, the seats look great to me.
I will know more when we get ours in about 2 months...

Looks to me the Mustang V6 dash looks no better than the Camaro LS you sat in.
in fact the radio looks like it came from K-mart, the heater controls are about as ugly as you can get, no imagination went into this layout or design.

That's the '05-'09 Mustang interior. 2010 is a different story.
