Going to be getting a Whipple installed on the l99 next month. Just trying to get an idea on which CAI some of you guys have had success with on the Whipple.

I did do a search to see if any comparisons had been done. I ran across numerous threads, but no one has any comparisons up yet with CAI's being installed on the whipple. I was curious to see if there would be a substantial benifit to adding one.

Check out Roto-Fab, I believe they have an intake tube that will work with their cai for a Whipple type SC!

The Roto-fab S/C systems are very popular among tuners. They typically report 35+ HP over the stock system. Keep in mind any comparison on stock vehicles is absolutely useless when you are looking at an application that is tuned.
If you research the S/C threads you will see many of the top tuners use the Roto-fab intake for the S/C applications. You can rest assured they have done plenty of their own testing and ours has clearly outperformed intakes that show better gains than ours on the Jannetty graph.
We have the Roto-fab Whipple S/C air intake on our website at roto-fab.com. While you are there, check out our gallery for some awesome pics of what C5 members have done under the hood!

I had a Cold Air Inductions intake, but when I had my supercharger (magnacharger) installed, I bought a Roto-fab intake. The Roto-fab makes one that fits really well with the maggie. Also, we dyno tuned the car after the SC was installed with the Cold Air Inductions intake and then again after we put the Roto-fab intake on the car and we got significantly better rwhp with the Roto-fab intake with the supercharger.

I think CAI makes a GREAT intake and I would have never changed it if I had not gone with the supercharger. But, I am very happy with the gains in rwhp with the Roto-fab intake with the supercharger.

You can check out the comparison of the dyno runs in my car journal.

For the record, CAI, Inc. does make a Magnacharger intake.

PM replied to. We have less feedback on the Whipple, but gains should be very similar to the Maggie. I will be contacting the last shop that ordered an intake from us for a Whipple. Hopefully we can get some numbers. I'm not sure what intakes, if any, he ran on the car besides ours.
