To Rushify or not to Rushify!!!

My Camaro is my daily driver, but I've taken good care of it. The only thing I've done to it is add a mount for my GPS (Garmin) using double sided tape, to the right of the PDIM/Stereo.

So, Rush (The Band) is going to be coming to The Gorge here in Washington State in July. I got a pretty cool gift for Christmas (Bobbleheads), and am considering mounting them somehow in my Camaro for the concert. I'm just not sure I can mount them on the rear deck somehow without messing up the surface, because I think the rear deck has cloth or some softer material back there (I'll look later when I get in the car).

Thoughts?

Definitely RUSHIFY! I don't have a pic at the moment, but my license plate is LYMLITE.

I saw them on the first leg of the tour in Los Angeles and Irvine. Seeing them again this year in LA.

If I could do that and be sure it wouldn't mess up the paint, I'd consider it for the trip out there

Can I go to the concert too? Seen them a couple of times but could see them a few more. Always a good show. As for the bobbleheads (cute by the way). I might bring them along & set them up after arrival but definately would not mess up my Camaro. On second thought, some crazy person might see them & take a brick to my window............Nah, I'd just leave them at home. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe you could mount them on a hat and wear them into the show. They might see you and let you watch their walkers while they are on stage! J/K!

It still chaps my hide that Rush isn't in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame yet.

spraypaint a piece of board the same color or as close as you can get to the rear shelf in the Camaro (grey or black). Then, mount the Rush figurines to the board, and set the board back there. It should rest nicely up against the seat back.

hot glue them. Order automotive paintless dent removal glue ( cost-$5.00 for 5 sticks) To get it off, get some 85% or better isopropanol, liberal amount around glue and they should just peel off. This is how its done at the factory

When these were shipped to me, Neil's neck was broken. They sent out another to replace him.

You know what's funny? I got a bunch of Rush t-shirts as well for Christmas, and I've been asked 3 times if Rush Limbaugh is running for president in 2012 when wearing my 2112 Starman shirt.

Command makes a 2 sided tape that they use for wall hooks, when you dont want it anymore you pull the tab and leaves no marks on the wall, safe for painted surfaces.

Saw Rush 5 times last year in the NY,NJ,CT area, and they are coming to NYC in April, probably have seen them at least 100 times since i was 12 when my uncle took me to my first Rush concert. Who needs the Hall of Fame! I spoiled myself by sitting front row for vapor trails tour, now anything less is a waste of time for me :-)

Agree 100%. Also no Kiss or Iron Maiden, but ABBA is in there. What a joke!

I'm finally reading Ghost Rider by Neal Peart. In it, he has the following passage about one of the many Rush concerts I've been too. I agree that it was one of the most perfect concerts ever.

In May of 1997, on the Test For Echo tour, Rush played a concert at The Gorge, an outdoor ampitheatre overlooking the treeless banks of the Columbia, which rippled westward from the backstage area in muscular bulges of yellow grass. In early evening, the air's perfect clarity played infinite shadings of light over the simple, dramatic landscape, and we took the stage in front of about 20,000 people (one of our largest crowds ever) just as the slow sunset dimmed into the cloudless, transparet twilight -- soon overpowered by the colored stage lights, follow spots, and video screens, and overlooked by a rising half moon. It was the most beautiful setting in which I had ever performed.

--Neil Peart - Ghost Rider
