Laps for Charity
Saturday, May 7th 2011

You're the driver when Texas Motor Speedway opens the Speedway to the public for the first time this year. Experience the thrill of driving your car around the 1.5-mile super speedway all to benefit the Texas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.

Polish up your special vehicle and come on out to "The Great American Speedway!®" on Saturday, May 07, 2011 for Laps for Charity I. Take three laps on the 1.5 mile Super Speedway behind a pace vehicle for just a $30 donation and have your picture taken in Victory Lane for an additional $10. Once again our fan favorite VIP Laps Experience will be offered for $250. Laps will be conducted for Car Clubs (by reservation) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and for the General Public from 7:30-10:30 p.m. No reservation is needed for the General public time.

For more information please contact the Speedway Children's Charities office at (817) 215-8421.

VIP Laps Experience for $250 donation per car Includes:
(1) 5 Laps Session during a special reserved time slot
(1) Three-Course Dinner for two at the Starlight Dinning Room in The Speedway Club (May 7, 2011)
(1) Photo in Victory Lane with your Car
(2) Laps for Charity event T-shirt

Drivers must be 18 years of age or older. All occupants in a car including the driver must wear a safety belt. Passengers must be 6 years of age or older. Motorcyclists must wear a helmet and must stay on the apron of the track. No passing. Single file only. Pace Car will set the speed limit.

Our track time is at 5:45 and they ask us to be there 30 mins in advance, I welcome every car group or chapter of Camaro5 to join us for this event, hope to see you all there

A location to meet and eat before laps for charity is still to be determined

It's for "speedway childrens charities", I don't know if you can give more money but I'm sure they wouldn't mind, you have until the day before I believe as TMS will call me and confirm the track time and head count

Is anyone considering a gathering point, like downtown Ft Worth/Sundance Square, Cowboys Stadium or something like this and then make a car show/cruise out to the TMS L4C event?

This is a Saturday event and could make a big deal out of it.. the Classic Chev / 9-11 / TMS event last Sept was awesome, and we should think BIGGER this time...

We are witnessing nice gatherings in Lake Havasu, & the Henderson, LA get together... What are WE going to do to attract the IDEA of CamaroFest coming to D/FW??

Just a suggestion..

Ok Im in. Will be making my donation soon. I vote Cowboy stadium so we can have all the camaros and the big ass stadium in the background for a picture

. PLus we can show up as a big caravan of 5th gens

How fast can you go? or whats the average speed the pace car goes? I'll go if they let you hit 130 or more....

they have a set limit of "75" but a few of us last year hit 110+

I had the pace truck riding my a$$, couldn't slow down to speed up too much, only got up to 90. Still a thrill though.
