Question CONVERTER QUESTIONS

Anyone installed a converter in a 2011? If so, what size, brand, and are there any driveability issues? Also, was it worth the money in terms of the gains in the quarter mile. I don't want to invest $1400.00 for a converter and cooler, and gain a 10th in the quarter or worst, lose anything. Lastly, did you have to re-tune your veh. with converter install. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Contact Jannetty racing. With their converter you don't need a cooler. It runs as cool as stock. I picked up .4 in the 1/4.

I picked up a half second also with just a Torque Converter. This is the best bang for your buck in an A6. You will definitely need a tune. Drives great around town no issues... only problem is hooking up at the track now...

I have Circle D 3200 stall. Trifecta Performance has a great mail order tune for these.

Circle D is gd as well. I'm not sure if you need a cooler or a tune adjustment with theirs. All I can comment on is that the Jannetty/pro torque doesn't need a cooler or a tune adjustment. We just popped it in a went to the track!

Mlee, what kind of quarter mile time you are seeing with the converter? I am currently running 12.20s @ 113 with headers, tune, and vararam. If I pick up a half second then that will put me in the 11.80s/70s range. An FTI converter was recommended to me. My car is already tune so will I need to re-tune it after converter install? My car is a 2011 as well.

I know there is more than 2 Camaro SS owners with converters installed in their vehicles. I need some more feedback my fellow members. Thanks again for any info you can provide based on your personal experience with our particular vehicles.

With name brands converters above there is plenty of gain. I would highly suggest a cooler with any of them, even a stock car needs a better one. The factory gauge is an idiot gauge. Reacts slow and inacurate. My car would read 180degree's during a pull but my other gauge hooked up would go over 210 degree's on a 1/4 pull then slowly cool back down. Factory gauge was too slow to follow.
