Dealer / Official Pricing questions

I called my local dealer today and he told me that they do not have pricing on the Camaro yet? Is there something official released from GM yet on pricing? Only thing that I have seen is the Camaro5 info that is a sticky at the top of the pricing/ordering section. I'd like to have something official just in case they give me that line again.

Also, the MSRP on the 2SS is $33,430. Does this price include the destination charge of $750 or would that be on top of the $33,430? Thanks in advance as always.

Just got back from my dealer tonight and made change on my order. Still no pricing from GM or any other information on car.

Yes GM have not supplied the dealers with pricing yet. The $750 destination charge is indeed on top of that price.

Thats Strange, I ordered mine friday and got the completed dealer sheet with the total sales price incliuding tax title and license fees.. how could they do that if they did not get the prices from GM?

P.S. The prices agreed completely with the published sheet plus the $750 destination charge...

Maybe its only certain dealerships that don't have prices? Or have an Official wording of price?

I got the same thing.. was @ MSRP price plus the stuff I added on. plus a $750 delivery charge

Dealerships are the worst informed people ever, I swear if I had $100 dollars for every point of all their combined IQ scores I wouldn't have but $1

Nothing is official...the MSRP sheet that was leaked was simply that...a leak!

Thanks!

At least we all have an idea on price now. Let's just hope that if there is a price increase, it will not be much more than the leaked price sheet.

Yeah, my dealer wouldn't commit 100% on the price that the order detailed, but I have to believe that there wouldn't be much change to it after all was said and done. I'm an optimist.

Since I can get GMU pricing, I'll be somewhere close to invoice. Lets just hope the first dealer I go to will take it. I don't know why they wouldn't.

Because they can easily sell the same car for MSRP - why lose money?

The GMU discount will be paid for by the GM, not the dealer.

Pricing was released by GM in October 2008. If you preorder this pricing will be correct. After production begins, all bets are off and prices could increase.

Incorrect. It's also GSU or GMS. There is no GMU.

Let's not split hairs, it is called the college discount and it does not matter to the dealer because GM is sponsoring this and is covering the cost.

GM is not covering any lost profit when you buy a car at a program price. All they are doing is getting the deal back to invoice.

It is really sad that most of these dealers that are discounting these cars before they even arrive. They are already cheapening the car and it hasn't even gotten here yet. It doesn't take a salesman to "give" cars away at invoice. These are just order takers.

Not true; that is a supplier discount and the dealer does not get money from GM unless the discount drops the price below invoice, in which case, GM gives the dealer the difference up to invoice amount.

You better verify your dealer is allowing supplier pricing: most are not at launch.

Now be fair- that's BS. Very few appear to be honoring the discounts and I've found only one giving a big discount to the average person. In fact, I was one of those defending dealers that didn't initially offer the discounts if you recall.

I have stated flat out that in my case, Paddock did nothing wrong; unfortunately for them, I found another local dealer- without even pursuing one, aka by pure luck- that was offering the discounts. Had I not come across them via another member here, I would still be happy at Paddock at MSRP. But I'm sure as hell not feeling bad that I'm going to save a bunch of money.

You know what I say.
In this economy you should take what you can get (as a dealer).
Look at all of the deals going on right now.
Most cars are going under invoice right now.
I dont forsee tons of normal people (not enthusiasts) dropping 25k+ on a car these days, esp. when jobs are getting cut left and right.
