Install intructions for the GMPP street exhaust

Anyone have a copy of the installation instructions or have tips/advice? It appears it's nothing more than pulling off the old mufflers and clapming on the new..but one never knows.

i do know you have to measure from pipe that connects to the old muffler back and then cut the pipe. 2 and something inches.

Very simple swap out, took me lees then 1 hr working on my back in garage. All you need is something to cut the pipe and wrench to tighten clamp.

Apparently there is a debate as to the proper length to cut. 59mm (2.32") as recommended maybe too much because it recesses the tips too far and they will melt the diffuser?

Go online to the Borla site. You can print them out right there. Borla makes these axle back mufflers.

Thanks, I did that and why I knew about the 59mm measurement. Good tip for others.

Still wondering what to watch out for when dealing with the tips.

The mufflers and tips come as a assembly. All you have to do is centalize the tip in hole in rear diffuser before you tighten the clamp. It is very easiy to do.

I have the GFX on my SS and my GM PP exhaust upgrade came up about 3" to 4" short of the edge of the opening. I am assuming you have the GFX also. There was no tip on the assembly of mine and I have the same concerns as you of possibly melting the diffuser. Dealership says there is no tip for that upgrade. I personally think it needs tips.

I don't have the GFX. And mine already have tips.
